Compressor brands for AF, Shampoo and Tire infl.

Much of equipment I bought for tire inflation, shampoo and Air freshener machines comes with Thomas Compressors. Certinainly no complaints about longevity and durability although one just went out on a shampooer in a little over a year.

Anyway, they are very pricey.

Anyone usng other brands succesfuly? In reality since these machines run only a few minutes at a time and the AF and shampoo have no back pressure, other than the opertaing temp extremes Chicago I figure it's not that much of a strain on the compressor.

Earl,

Have you tried rebuilding the thomas compressors? I have a customer looking for a rebuild kit. I am still searching the internet and thought I would try here too. It is in an "industrial vac" which I thought was still being made up the street at Gin San but they dont come up in a google search. The customer had a vac number but no compressor info. I am trying to figure out if they always use the same model in the vacs.

Just spoke with an engineer at Thomas's Michigan distributor (Combined Fluids) and he tells me its either a 1207PK80 (one head) or a 2685PE40 (two head). The heads are square and the motors are round so it should not be hard to figure out which is which. The model number should be on a sticker but the engineer tells me the manufactures will remove it so you have to but through them.

Try these guys. Ask for the "Cold Weather kit".

HAve rebuilt many a thomas compressor, but I don't know what your model is. Perhaps if you describe it to them they can help.
