Chemical shipping cost?

I just ordered my first 5-gallon jug of brush foam since buying my car wash a month ago. Will the shipping always cost more than the chemicals themselves or did I just choose the wrong place to order from? It was not the big name company that I should have gone with, but the price was a little less. What should I expect to pay for shipping on a 5-gallon bucket? Where should I be buying chemicals from for shipping to SC/NC?

Thanks!
Patrick

You might be able to find a local distributor that will deliver free. I order pallet load quantity from Kleenrite to get free shipping. That is 36 5 gallon pails or 36 50lb boxes or combo of each. You can throw all your other stuff on top of that and gett free shipping to. For a small 5 gallon chemical I would search out a local distributor.

Kleen rite has car wash show specials and quarterly Kleen scene magazine specials. If you buy X amount of product you can get FREE shipping. Every spring when Kleen Rite has the show special I buy all the supplies I'll need for next year, soap, vending, hose, parts everything I think I'll need for the year. I use JBS Fonic wash for my foam brush and my High pressure soap, I use Simoniz Correct for my Presoak and I use Simoniz Cherry glo wax. This year to get the FREE shipping ICA show shipping you had to buy $1250 worth of products.

If you’re ordering 1 5gl bucket and having it shipped to you, it won’t matter where you order it from, it will cost you an arm and a leg. I would find a good local company, but you will probably have to buy several buckets of chemicals to get them to deliver it for free. You may be able to swing by the local company and pick it up, if you’re only getting 1 or 2 buckets.

At any time you can order 36 five-gallon pails of soap from Kleen-Rite and get free shipping in the lower 48 states.
As of this writing you have 30 days to make that order to take part in their "Monster Soap Special."
If you like the soaps, you can get the "buy 3, get 1 free" deal AND get free shipping.
Do yourself a favor and read up on the soap threads on this forum before you commit to a pallet of a particular brand...one line in particular is absolute garbage.
(Thanks again Randy! (y) )

Dont ever go off of soap for price per gallon. It's price per car that you want to compare. All soap is differant. Find one that you can get a good cost per car even if it's twice as much per gallon. it doesn't matter.

Sounds like you're new. I would not be buying online. You need to find a local distributor that will help you with your set up and not just sell you soap. Even if you pay extra for soap their help is worth ever dollar.
