cheapest salt for your softener

Good question- the price of salt in my area has really risen in the past few years. I just paid over $6/40 lb bag. I think I'm going to break down and replumb my autos

I buy my salt directly from the local distributor . I pay around $8.25 for an 80lb bag. To get that price I have to buy a pallet of 30 bags. They deliver it and use a forklift to put in my equipment room for a $25 fee.

washmee: that is about $4.50/ 40 lb bag. That's an avg price.

$3.99/ 40 lb bag is a pretty good price. I'm looking for 40 lb bag / $3.50 or less....

Also, I checked 3 local Ace's, & they all have theirs for $5.99. That is a LOT more than your's!

Yeah I've noticed that the another Ace in my area is at $5.99 too, but the store I go to is 3.99. Maybe their prices are screwed up but we've been getting it there for over a year at that price.

Check with Culligan, they'll deliver salt for a good price. Just make sure they don't give you the low-end Solar salt, it's extremely dirty.

For lowes, yes they do all. I think Home Depot does active or retired, not vets who didn't retire. Discriminatory.
