Car Wash Attendant

New to the industry and purchased a wash that has 3 SS bays, a pet wash and one IBA. Just curious how everyone operates there day to day? We have employees that typically go to site just before closing and clean bays, take out trash and do general housekeeping then make sure all the doors are closed up for the night. Would any of you think a full time attendant would be necessary or beneficial? I'm thinking only if I could find someone that could also do small repairs and maintenance then it might be worth it, also maybe hard to find or pay for that skill set. we are in smaller town and close at 9pm since there is not much car traffic through out the night plus keeps me from having to be woke up in the middle of night with someone stuck in automatic or something.:p

i have someone go to my locations every day before 8am then again at 1:30pm to clean up and check to make sure all is well. i would never pay someone to sit around all day. instead i make sure daily everything is working as it should and periodically check my cameras and voicemail. i also have my clean up guy slide a zip tie to into each coin acceptor when there to check for coin jams.

Im on site daily at both my washes. I have a guy that has been helping for the last 6 months if/when im not around. I coach travel softball and my girls are getting older and more competitive so we are traveling more, playing in more tournaments. Any ways ,right now he is basically a clean up guy, will fill changers, etc. Honestly he is very good and i dont have to worry alot when im not around cause he is very vigilant, he has caught and repaired several things with out even asking, he kinda reminds me of myself 20 years ago. I actually had the discussion with him a couple weeks ago about what his thoughts were about bringing him on full time. My discussion was to see if the interest was there for him or if he just wanted to keep making extra money. I was surprised at how quickly he said he would love to just work for me. Ive pretty much always kept it me and the wife, but im probably going to bring him on full time at the beginning of the year. My thought is if it maths out and your time can be spent doing something else you want or need to do then go for it.
