Does anyone have any experience offering a aluminum can and plastic bottle recycling at their site? I am considering offering a seperate blue container on the vac island with an opening only large enough to pass a can or bottle. Trying to reduce waste and be more green. Would this be a nightmare to manage?

Kudos to you for wanting to be "green"
(green as in ecology)
some people will still put trash in it
(sorting the trash out will defeat "green as in money")

Perhaps allow the boy scouts or some other charity to process the recycle bin instead of paying your staff to do it. A big sign on the bin showing that the proceeds go to charity might motivate some of the customers to use the bin correctly (or steal the aluminium from it)

Dubois is right, I see people prowling for aluminum all the time at washes. You'll need locking receptacles so the cans aren't stolen, and you'll almost certainly have to sort.

The separate containers are a good idea and might make your site more attractive to the eco-friendly crowd, but if you're going to spend the time and money with a recycling project you might as well sort all the trash.
