Boom Wires in Automatics

My Ryko overhead gantry runs 3 one hp electric motors run on 3 phase power. 1 cable tuns through the boom with 10 heavy wires to feed the motors power. If one of the wires breaks we loose a motor function. Rather than buy a long new 10 wire cord that is never available locally we buy a heavy duty extension cord and replace the feed for the affected motor. Much cheaper fix and we have had them running for years like this.
