My town had a meeting Monday night about raising the sewer rate. I am wondering whether I should ask to install a sewer meter on my lift station.

I know nothing yet of the cost to install, who would read it and what the payback on such an item would be.

Thought from those who have a sewer meter? Thanks.

waxman,
I do not have a sewer meter now but have had talks with the water dept. here with little success, here is two locations with good info.( www.city-meter.com)
and (www.mccrometer.com)
I wish you luck, if you do a search on sewer meter there is some info there.

The first thing you need to find out is if it is truly a sewer rate or a BS way of raising the water rate. For instance, ask how they account for landscape watering etc. Many will admit that it is a lie to disguise a water rate increase. If that is what it is stop wasting yourr time with a sewer meter.

Just left a meeting yesterday with a new wash we are doing. The town absolutely would not do a sewer meter and would not give an answer why. My guess is that they know it will reduce their income. It's been a controlled monopoly/racket for too long.
