Anyone ever experiment with free pre-wash pressure wand use?

Free bug prep is catching on in EE (link). I was wondering what you guys thought about the same thing but with "mud prep" wands. Automatic washing can't get bugs, but that goes for mud in wheel wells, as well. Do you think this is a worthwhile idea?

Moderate to heavily muddy vehicles are advised that our automatics most likely will not clean it off and are recommended to move over to a self serve bay. Actually, heavily muddy vehicles are told not to go into the automatics, takes too long to wash it down which prevents others from coming in.
