My local electric utility (DTE) suggests I put a line/load reactor on my VFDs. They are going to an automatic switch on a capacitor that services my wash. When they are on "automatic", during the switch-over a transient voltage spike trips the VFDs. It's easy enough to reset the drives, but until they're reset, I'm out of business. DTE says the line reactor will eliminate the problem.
Is it a big deal to install? Should I call in an electrician? Will this correct my problem?
Thanks!
