Alkaline before Acid?

Right now I have first pass acid and second pass alkaline. I am not so worried about glass or chrome but more worried about getting the car clean. Has anyone tried Alkaline followed by acid and would it do a better job on the body of the car?
 
Depends on several factors. Alkaline is going to do a better job cleaning the paint, so if intent on using true two step I would go high then low. Most people I know just do high on both passes.
I normally use a mild acid first followed by an extremely caustic pass.
