alarm sensor wiring

Well-known member
I am replacing a couple of runs of control box wire. is it considered bad form to use a couple of extra wires from the control cable to use for the alarm sensor?

It's just low voltage right? Don't see why it would be an issue.

Just checking. The sensors are on seperate cable now. I wanted to clean things up a bit and the conduit is a little crowded. I'd hate to put it on the control box cable and find out later that I could get some kind of crossover.
Thanks for the help

Eric,

Both are low voltage 'control' wires and so that should not be a problem. You only run into problems when there is inductance spill between wires/pairs. This typically happens at higher frequencies or power levels. So no issue here.
