Air compressor for auto detailing

Jon

New member
Hi All,
I’m thinking about getting a separate air compressor for air detailing on full service car washes.

I’m planning for the compressor to service 3 auto stations. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I need to purchase?

Just acquired a run down car wash and very new to this industry. Any help is appreciated!

I bought this for my detail shop. It's been really great.

I tried to economize on a couple of air compressors before this and regretted it both times. The first time I had a very loud unreliable temperamental Ingersoll rand that I burned up in less than a year. Then I spent about $1000 on a husky compressor from Lowe's. What a mistake that was. I was constantly replacing the reed valves over and over because it was not meant to run continuously sometimes like it needs to in the detail shop. This compressor might seem expensive but it's well worth it when you consider how Maintenance free it is.

Look for one rated for continues duty. Ingersal Rand, Quincy are what I have used since being in the tire business. You can get by with a single stage quality compressor since you probably won't need 150 psi.
