This is probably not the place to post it, I don't know where it should be. He was a good customer and I made a good friend the time I had know him.

Hi to all. I'm posting this "go fund me" for a friend. A fellow US Marine and father has passed away suddenly. The family has no money for the proper burial this man deserves. The VA won't help pay for funeral costs. The USMC won't help pay for funeral costs. The funeral home is now holding his body and won't embalm or give proper burial until they get money 😢 Please help this family out if you can. Just click the link and donate any amount you can afford. Every dollar counts. This man fought for this country and now no one wants to bury him... I am very saddened by this. Please donate if you can... Thank You, Mt Carmel Car Wash

From what I know, A friend works at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery and you right it is free, and all set up for his burial. His only son age 16 is trying to set this up for his father. The undertaker in Tamaqua, Pa. (Who I think is an A## personally) Told Greg Jr. He has to have 4500.00 or he will not embalm or transport his body to the cemetery.
I did try the link and it did work. It does end up at the go fund me link.

Along with owning the carwash, I am a funeral director and funeral home owner here in Nebraska. Sorry to hear about your friend's passing. I would seriously suggest reaching out to the Veteran Service Officer in Tamaqua. http://www.lyco.org/Departments/Veterans-Affairs (Phone - 570-320-2101) There may be some service connected benefits that the veteran may be entitled to. There could be survivor benefits too. I know in Nebraska we have an organization called the Nebraska Veteran's Aid Fund and it allows up to $5600 for proper burial of honorably discharged veterans. Perhaps the state of Pennsylvania has something like this too. I hope this helps.

Just a follow up, his son did get a hold of the Veterans affairs. The memorial is set up for Monday with his burial Monday afternoon in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Thanks for the information spf8298.
