    Best Touchless Car Wash?

We have been very pleased with our WW Razor that was installed in mid-2022 (as an addition to our WW Profile), combined with the use of ChemQuest chems. Gross yearly income increased almost 75%.

Another "Just When You Thought You've Seen It All."

He got off it and ran to the front of the bay while it washed. When he got back on it to drive it out of the bay, he was so high on it, his head was almost hitting the bridge. Ridiculous. The wash is unattended, but with WW's great app, I can re-home and reset the machine from my phone.

Another "Just When You Thought You've Seen It All."

Can't believe the idiot who tried to take this through our Razor and when it stopped on him (getting caught on those big tires), he had the balls to ask for a refund!! I just told him to get that thing outtah there! I'm clueless as to what it is. I've never seen anything like it.

    Worst car of the day

We use ChemQuest with our Razor and they do a terrific job here in South Texas where we have alot of dust and caliche roads. It's an outstanding product line. I plan to ask our distributor about the Plazma. We are currently using their Lemon PreSoak.

    Best way to count quarters?

I use an AccuBanker Coin Sorter/Counter, which also rolls them. Our Bank, Wells Fargo, will only take them that way. We only take quarters at the vacs. The Pay Stations for the washes are only currency or credit card.

Interesting video of a new Autowash location

Due to our demographic in a rural, lakeside town in South Texas, our ICS machines are set up for cash, credit cards, Tap n'Pay, Google and Apple Pay. We've got every type of customer from those who use only cash to those using their phones for all the high-tech stuff. When first installed, the...

Conversion of PDQ WALS Acct. into ICS WashConnect

Honestly, it's been a nightmare. I absolutely hate ICS. The system is so complicated and is really not suited for an unattended IBA. Much more suitable for a tunnel where there are people on-site all day. The refit cost was $11,495 for the existing Access Machine, and then for the new bay we...

PDQ Access not dispensing cash for change?

How old is your Access Machine? Sometimes those bill dispensers just wear out, the belts go bad, etc. We've had ours replaced once, and PDQ will rebuild the old one, so we now always have a spare.

    Running both Friction and Touchless

Both of our bays are open 24/7 and the site is unattended. Of course we have security cameras all over the property; and both the equipment and pay stations send us emails if an error or problem occurs. Serious issues have been rare.

    Running both Friction and Touchless

We run a touchless and friction side by side in a small lakeside town in rural South Texas (WashWorld Profile and Razor). We started with a single bay friction in 2016 and added the touchless in 2022. Our demographic is quite varied -- farmers, ranchers, oilfield, construction, tourists...

Stuff like this makes you want to quit the business...

We traced the license plate and the folks were from out of this juisdiction, so the cops here won't do anything even if they could. Might just call up the guy and read the riot act to him.

Stuff like this makes you want to quit the business...

Just before midnight today, some idiots took a boat attached to a dually through our Profile! So lucky it did not do any damage. The Profile must have stopped when it hit the hitch and bar attachment to the boat and did not try to continue around the back of the truck, and just washed the...

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

    Thanx. I'll check into that.

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

Wes sold the distributorship quite some time ago. But the Service Mgr. is back and forth with WW on it. That's exactly how I feel. I'm happy to be past this and moving on.

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

I think we're okay there. I'm leaning toward believing it's the added weight of the Wheel Detailers that contributed to the problem with the frame.

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

I was told that if you use a high pH detergent and it sits on the frame during non-use hours or overnight, it can eat up the aluminum. However, we use ChemQuest Plummett for our Profile, and it is low pH, however, it does have acid in it.

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

I've now learned something that adds more to the equation. When WW first came out with the Profile, the Power Wheel Detailers were added as sort of an afterthought, as an option. They are extremely heavy. My guess is WW never took into account the extra weight being dragged back and forth...

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

After some service was recently done on our Profile and it was tested, the tech heard alot of popping/cracking noises. After inspection, we were shocked to find 18-20 welds in the frame that had cracked or come apart. The Profile was deemed unsafe, and we were down a few more days waiting on a...

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

Certainly interesting. But McDonalds doesn't really care about what's nearby to eat, because they're the center of attention; but it's definitely good for a proposed car wash to know what sort of commercial establishments and restaurants are near their location.

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

I don't think McDonald's is a requirement for a location, although being close to any type of popular fast food place is definitely an advantage. We're in a small town with a Pizza Hut 2 lots from us; a popular Mexican Restaurant across the street; and a state-famous BBQ place about a 1/4 mile...
