With any powder I always use a in line filter between the tank and the injector. Keeps the injector tip clean and easy to unscrew the screen and clean out to prevent problems.
If you have a touchless auto wash then you are not required to have garage keepers insurance because you never take physical control of the car, or at least that is what I have always been told. If you had a friction IBA then you needed it.
Randy on this forum is in Washington state. He would be the best scource for a used one or knowledge of where to get one. Other than that you might check with Royce industries in Boise. Tommy might be able to help you find one.
I sometimes will mix in some tokens to vend with the quarters. I put a sign on the changer that states it vends a mix of tokens and quarters. The sign alone will stop most abusers. If it gets bad mix a few of the similar sized tokens in for a while. My hamiltons will dispense both out of the...
I did all the research I could on the financial side of the business and went to trade shows to learn. My biggest shortage was the mechanical knowledge needed. I watched the techs and learned from them as I had to pay them fix things. I was lucky and had agreat distributor that was willing to...
On concrete and cinder blocks I have found to get the last bits off that goof off and other stuff leaves behind that a stiff wire brush wheel on a portable electric drill works well.
Token notes should not be lost. I am getting ready to convert 4 goldlines over to Crypto with tap and swipe readers. If you have not ordered your kit yet better get it done and start the paperwork to get your merchant number.
Most states and the EPA go by test it once and if it test fine then as long as your scope of business does not change you will not have to test each time. California for example has tested it several times and deem pit dirt as street sweepings. As long as it is dry there is nothing bad about pit...
I would not start for anything under $3. I am at $4 for 3 minutes 30 seconds and will soo go to $5 for 4 minutes. This thought crossed my mind today. If I went with full dollar increments and dollar tokens it would eliminate a lot of the start/stop that contactors, pumps etc experience and...
I have been using it for a couple of years and generally like it except that it will kink nad gain a memory at the kink point. No problem in the warm months but I have had some occasions where it caused a bay to freeze when it kinked and did not allow weep water to run. It is rare but it does...
My best advise is to keep the wash consistent. Establish your level and maintain your standards within a small frame work . People will come to know what to expect and want to get that every time. WHen your standards deviate is when people become unhappy.
Most modern boilers are setup with a exhaust that has a two way pipe. one side will bring in outside air for combustion and one is used for exhaust. My first wash 30 years ago required a similar sized vent in the door but have not put in one without dual exhaust for 25 years. Not having enough...
I try to keep my price higher than the other SS washes. People who want quality will pay for it. Those looking for a cheap price will find it and go there. I still have to point out rules but if they are getting free services from me, I can't afford the, anyway.
Prior to being in the car wash business our family was in the tire business and we used a lot of air. QUnicy or industrial Ingersol Rand compressors were all we used. We had several QUincy compressors that ran for 30 plus years in that business without any issues. I hav e 3 Quincy air...
My Cummins dual pocket is acting up and it looks like the company has sold out to another one and repair work looks like a pain. Does anyone have experience with the Hitachi dual pocket that Kleenrite sells.
Chris, you handled it well. I often have trouble with people who want to stay in the bay detailing their wheels and drying the car while people are waiting to get in. Every bay is full and people waiting and they don't care. I ask them kindly to pull out so then next person can wash. I have...
I run into that on a daily basis. I carry a square nose shovel for the heavy mud and use it first. Speeds up the bay cleaning. Don't let the 1 in 100 create a policy that eliminates 50.
