Buying 1 in bay with 5 SS - not operational

Nice looking building. I really like the open concept/no door design you can have in Warner climates.

    Midwest Slow Right Now?

We are hot and dry in Western NY, so the cars are not really getting that dirty.

Ryko Softglass Maxx 5 - Pre Soak

Any presoak cycle will only be as good as the chemical you are using. If you need to take a substantial bite out of the dirt and bugs chemically, you need a high pH product that has some hang time before your friction wash. I don’t know how the Ryko is set up, but bugs on the front bumper and...

    On board vs Freestanding dryers

Freestanding for sure. Also, if you are concerned that your customers will not take their time for a good dry if you have freestanding blowers, spot free rinse will mitigate most of the water spots if the car is not thoroughly dried.

forced to put an air vent in control room were water heater is in Ontario Canada

I am not disputing your points about the air flow you already have, but it’s my guess that there is a formula for the square footage of the room and vent size that has to be designated for the air flow, and where it has to be located. Maybe they don’t consider the doors, change machines etc...

    in bay signs??

Waxman, I recall seeing a really nice back-lit sign on the exterior of your building that you made. You might be able to take care of this yourself! You just might need someone to make the plastic graphic for whatever product you want to use.

    Automatic Potential Revenue

You also have to think about what package you are omitting when you go from 4 to 3, and it should be the most basic express/econo/cheap wash. That bumps your lowest 10% or so of customers up to the next package price. Definitely a positive move.

    Pink stains from was

I’d bring it to the wash and talk to the owner, but it will likely disappear fairly quickly with exposure to the sun.

    Old Super Wash

OurTown - I take it the Autec is working well for you. I am considering an IBA and open to anything in the early stages of my research.

    Automatic Potential Revenue

I agree with Waxman. When it comes to replacing equipment, it’s always better to be too early than too late.

    Old Super Wash

    Beautiful wash and remodel. Congratulations!

Would you rather own a express/full service or a 4+2?

I was thinking if an IBA only site with no vacs or trash cans could work. Vacs are so profitable - hate to go without them, but there would be no reason for customers to ever get out of their car unless they towel dried after their wash.

Thanks Greg. Definitely going to check this machine out.

Thanks Blanco. That is good to hear. I have to see if there is an Istobal installer close to me. I’m also thinking about the pickup truck drivers that don’t fold in mirrors. I know that would happen to me if unattended.

Blanco and Greg - are you operating your Istoblal friction machines without an attendant most of the time? How are damage claims?

Dry brush washers. I can’t keep doing this

I guess the ultimate would be if they brought their own soap, bucket and used your foam brush to dip in the bucket!

    Thanks Greg. That’s very helpful.

Does anyone have one of these machines? What are your thoughts? I’m starting to consider a friction IBA at one of my self serve locations and I’m open to just about any machine out there at this point. Im not interested in the combo touchless/friction Fusion X, just the friction e Fusion.

Would you rather own a express/full service or a 4+2?

I have an exterior express (no towel dry labor) and I think I’m right into middle of the two models you have cited. I definitely need labor every day and cannot wash 24/7, but I don’t have a fraction of the labor needed if I were offering flex services. I’ve often thought that my next wash...

looking for a in bay dryer recommendation

Indoor or outdoor, wall mounted or floor mounted, how many fans, 15 or 10hp, oscillating or not, elephant ears or not, are you fitting a tire shine unit below, new or used, any height or width restrictions etc.? If you give some needs/requirements, I’m sure some people will chime in with...
