Keno,
I know the Nayax system pretty well but did not know the part about making you try Tap and then Insert before allowing Swipe, that seems like a good way to move people away from swiping. Thanks for posting that.
You have a mix of Laurel vending machines, the one on the left is a Model 300, the other one is a Model 2100, this determined by how high the pull handle is from the bottom of the cabinet. Take the coin mechanism's out and take pictures, especially the coin acceptor so I can see the white label...
33 years ago we came out with the mechanical coin mech that goes up to $3.00. If you have the $1.00 max coin mech yes you need to change out parts, only the cabinet shell on the wall stays. Is it worth it, not in most cases but we do have some that still swear by the non-electric style.
We make an assortment of 'side mount boxes' when you don't have room on your faceplate. One version for CryptoTap Plus is Kleen-Rite part #CPS3025-CTP. Use 'Side Mount Box' in their search and you will see all of them.
Chip and Pat will both be at the Expo, stop by the Laurel vending display to see the newest payment device (CryptoTap Plus) and get your vending questions answered. Pat doesn't get out of the factory too often so here's your chance to interact with the magician behind the Laurel curtain.
Lots of great advice here Chris from some of the real experienced operators. I'm just now connecting you now to the Chris & Christine who came by the Kleen-Rite booth at NRCC show to talk vending, and lots more. Nice looking wash for sure.
Cashless vending machines used to be rarely ordered, now it is the biggest trend we see. I've yet to hear anyone say it was a mistake to not accept coins.
To clarify a few points made - the retrofit kit that has the new circuit board and new door is in the $460 range, if you add Cryptopay then it goes to $860. The LED display on the new ( 8 years now) circuit board for the 3 or 5 column is in the exact same position as the old one, purposely done...

Kleen-Rite carries this small 'side mount box' - part #LP39985
You can convert the Model 2100 ($1 max vend price) to a Model 300 ($3 max vend price) by changing out these parts:
Coin mechanism - part #300-D15
Door - part #300-B70
Magazine Assembly (drop-shelf ass'y) -- part #300-D1
Empty Rod - part #300-14
You keep the cabinet shell and you don't need...
Laurel supplied the drop-shelf magazines for D & S and they did the rest. I believe they designed the circuit board that controls the vender. Did you ask D & S if they have a repair source for that board?
That's the discontinued board for our Laurel 3 or 5 column machines, this one about 20 years old looking at the microprocessor code. The replacement is part #899-77 and it has a larger dot matrix LED display and allows for credit card systems to function with it. The sell for about $300 and it...
Since you are in Canada you would source the Nayax Touch and then order our machine 'Nayax ready' and it will come with the door holes punched for mounting and have the access cutout for the MDB cable. Order the longer (3m) MDB cable so you can run the cable up and over to the control board...
$10 labor to overhaul a mechanical coin mechanism, parts would be $5 - $20 additional.
All we need is note in carton with your return shipping info, include email for the invoice.
Pay by check after you get them back and test them.

There are 6 different versions of these boxes made for Cryptopay, CryptoTap, Nayax and some have timer windows for the LED 6 or 7.
They were called 'side...
Very interesting chart of sales numbers you posted, thanks for sharing. The vending sales are what I'm concerned about - do you have our Laurel machines or some other machine(s)? Or is it just one machine?
