Are self service car washes going extinct ?

IMO, You really need to have credit cards. We talk about it all the time and the biggest detraction is "the fees". For me the 5.5% I am paying is well worth the added income the cards bring in. Add to that time to sort, count, take to bank etc. etc. is well worth it. I have more customers...

Installing wall mount Air Shammee's on roof?

If they have a dome on them I doubt it would be a problem. The motor is pretty much a sealed unit as is the blower housing. I have mine installed in my attic and the only issue I see might be if you have a corrugated roof the intake port will be pretty close to the roof possibly sucking standing...

Are self service car washes going extinct ?

Have not seen any new ones in my area being built. I rehabbed one that was closed for 11 years and its doing great, but the cost to build ground up just doesnt seem to work. Think about it this way, a strong ss bay might bring in $1,200-1,500 per month. A strong iba might bring in $14,000-18,000...

Super high merchant rate: Cryptopay on vacs and vending

I know anyone thats in this business loves the cash! So going to credit cards is a loss of some cash. I talk to a lot of other owners and everyone complains about the fees. I am at about 5.5% between my Cryptopay and my autotellers. To me the extra $$$ that now comes into my bays and vacuums...

    Which brand new touchless?

One thing not mentioned here. How hands on are you? Are you planning on just making a phone call when something goes wrong, or will you run to your wash "WHEN" there is a problem, roll up your sleeves and work on it yourself? I try to do all 95% my own work. I am fortunate that I also have a...

    Self Serve equipment replacement recommendations.

Another Coleman fan. I have 2 locations, both rehabbed with used Coleman pumpstands. I am not big on buying new equip., everything on there can be rehabbed. Allthough the Coleman stand has a relatively large footprint, I did shorten one of them by about 6'. Ginsan for selector doors(I purchased...

    Cryptopay fleet card alternatives

I believe you can have any card added on your account as an attendant card. I believe you can even use a visa/mc gift card. I know you used to be able to add them. Not sure if they changed that with the attendant cards. I know I have my business Visa card as an attendant card at both my...

LW prox switch Cable, from K-R...?

Can you guys add some links? I usually get prox's and the cables from Kleenrite, they are much less expensive then the distributors, but still expensive. Also if someone else has gear box options for laser & washworld that would be great as I feel they are well overpriced.

SIGN - No use if Meter Not running

How about some kind of a clamping setup that unlocks the gun or the foam brush while its turned on? Has anyone ever tried anything like this? Or just pump 110 volts into anything thats not turned on!!! That'll take care of it!

Vapor Tight Lights - hanging on the wall?

I have 4-4' vaportight fixtures with led bulbs in them in each bay. I have 1 in each bay that comes on with a timer, and the other 3 come on with a omron plc. When timer is running they come on and have a 10 minute courtesy time after timer stops. The fixtures are mounted on the wall and...

    Vacuum hose splitting issues

I think I remember Kleen Rite posting something about some bad Hose a while back??!! I got bay blowers and the hose that came with them was coming apart, and I think it is the same hose as the cheap KR hose. I had problems with it from the motor to the booms.
