That really sucks... Living in a city is a double-edged sword. It's great because you're typically around more densely populated areas than us rural operators. But, you have more costs because you operate around that dense population. I guess the only repercussion you have, if you aren't able to...
I do open carry at night with my Smith and Wesson M&P .40 as we are in a city with a higher crime rate. I don't get as aggressive as you say here, but I do worry that I will run off all my customers eventually. And I'm never aggressive or rude when I approach them. But, I have problems when they...
That's a lot of headache, MJW. Sucks that you, and others, have to deal with this so often. I had another hit and run yesterday. Haven't even settled the last one. This one left the bar next door, drove through bay 6 and then drove off without even slowing down. It was an equipment rental truck...
At the time that I write this, I am the most expensive car wash in a town of about 80,000 population. There are a total of 6 self serve car washes. Feels good... Only a handful of people have mentioned the price increase and nobody has a rebuttal when I tell them that I just spent $3,000.00 on a...
Recently a guy came to my car wash to pay for a hit and run that he did 4 days earlier. I went to the sheriff's department and they told him to come pay or get indicted. He asks for receipts of what I replaced when he arrives and I told him that I'm not playing these games he can pay or leave...

My barriers are DEFINITELY not going anywhere. I was going to have a box built that would fit between them. We have no barriers on the other side and a guy with a trailer did a hit and run and the brick island had to be rebuilt. Luckily, cameras caught him.
I like that a lot. I'll show this to the guys who made our outer door. I'm sure they can make this for me cheaper than the 600 dollar trash can that I linked. My setup is pretty similar, except that the trash can sits between 2 barrier poles that protect our brick vacuum island from being hit...
Would you be willing to post a picture? I have a metal worker that has made my door and some other things. I'm sure he could beat the price on the one I linked.
Also, that one I liked it 152 pounds. It would be pretty durable.
Teepee tops won't work with my setup. I'm currently looking at these. They are very expensive, but they're nice and I like how they operate. Any feedback on this?

I use the 30 gallon drums with the tops removed. I don't like them for two reasons. The first is that they are not very professional looking. The second is that we don't have a top on them so people drive by and dump their whole car out, without using a single service, and then leave. I think...
I'm not sure why you act like illegal was pejorative. If they were driving with no license or insurance, then they are illegal by definition.
I always encourage people to vote inasmuch as it's our responsibility. But, this 'madness' is already slowing...
I agree. I don't say anything unless all of my bays are full and I have people waiting. And because of that, I may remove my signs. If all of your bays are full often with a line, then you should raise prices.
