    Weep water check valve question

Thanks! How do you go about testing the valves (Cat 5CP2120)?

    Weep water check valve question

Is it really necessary to install a check valve so that weep water does not flow back through the pump head to the gravity fed storage tanks? I was having a conversation with a fellow operator and he said the pump valves will not prevent the back flow of weep water. I once had a wash where the...

    Best transformer

Who makes the best transformer? Been comparing Micron and Acme Electric transformers. Need 208 /24. Was planning on tapping power from the motor starter input. Encapsulated or not? Enclosure is 3R

    Cleaning Cryptopay reader idea.

One of my Cryptopay readers stopped reading cards. So I took a label/tag, shown in the picture, folded it, and moistened it with rubbing alcohol. After several passes through the reader, it works like a champ. Hopefully, I didn't damage it.

    New control cabinet question

Refurbishing a pumping plant and need to update the existing control panel/box. The panel will house the transformer, motor starters, etc. The panel will be attached to the side of the plant frame similar to National Pride’s setup. Does the control panel need to be NEMA 3R or will a 1R be...

tapped stainless pipe to mount individual solenoids

I believe Washworld manifolds are fabricated using Flow Drilling (aka friction drilling). The molten metal is displaced to form a sleeve that can tapped. Youtube has a good video showing this.

Excellent site to configure and purchase manifold blocks. Good resource!

The manifolds you build look nice, but do they hold over the long run? Tire cleaner. What kind of standoff blocks do you use?

Excellent site to configure and purchase manifold blocks. Good resource!

I’ve been looking for stainless steel manifold blocks to mount Kip solenoids. For those of you who fabricate your own equipment, I found a site that will enable you to configure manifold blocks and give you shipping time and prices. You can choose from a number of different configurations; such...

tapped stainless pipe to mount individual solenoids

This looks good. What kind of sealant are you using for the brass? I also noticed you are not using push lock fittings. Do you have a picture of your final setup?

    Kip solenoid question.

Does anybody know the dimensions of the individual stainless Kip solenoids that KR sells? I’m trying to configure a custom manifold and need that height. Also, do the individual Kip solenoids have a dedicated input/output port. Can the coil be rotated around the solenoid shaft?

    regulator selection and setup.

Thanks, I would imagine that brass or ss they are physically the same size; in other words they are interchangeable. Mep, in a previous post you weighed in on how to properly plum the discharge to minimize cavitation. The way this is plumbed now the inlet and bypass are plumbed on the opposite...

    regulator selection and setup.

I'm rebuilding a pumping plant and remembered in another post that the regulator bypass should be plumbed on the same side of the pump head. In the picture shown, it shows the inlet on the left and the bypass return on the right. Is this wrong? Also, I was considering replacing all the...

    Control cable

I purchased West Penn Wire because it had the narrowest diameter. Here is an 18ga 20 conductor from West Penn with a nominal cable outside dimension of 0.372. The item number for this in a 1000 foot spool is 285GY1000. I purchased my wire from A-I Consolidated, with a good price and good...

    pump/motor mounting fabricator

You would think so.... you would think so......today I requested a quote on three 1/4 stainless sheets, 28 x 20, one quote was approximately $450.00 and the other was over $800.00. Is stainless really that high? Yikes!!!

    pump/motor mounting fabricator

Can someone recommend a fabricator/welder who can make a pump/motor mounting plate out of stainless steel? I have the dimensions and no holes need to be drilled. Can't be that hard!

    pump and motor mounting plate

looking to add two additional pumps to a “Superior Stax Series” pumping plant. Short of having a stainless mounting shelf & belt guard fabricated, i was wondering if anybody has one for sale. I know it is a long shot but perhaps someone has something in their bone yard. The dimensions are...
