I haven't seen that at my wash in over15 years. Fishing line glued to the quarter in my case. My Dad found it and had a lot of fun trying to get it to work at our wash. It never worked in the self service bays but would work in the Hamilton pay station.
Is there a multi conductor wire traveling with the machine? It's possible you have wires rubbed bare, shorting, and causing a fail. Like Waxman and Blanco posted look for flickering inputs and outputs. Been down that road before.
Dan K and TMoliver are correct on the floor heat. Don't take the risk without it. Sounds like the previous owner neglected this wash. Do all the bay functions work? I would be weary of a lease if wherever you turn there are repairs required. Costs add up fast. Of course, that may or may not be...
I have 1 199k takagi for the floor heat of 2 16X42 automatic bays and 2 16X28 self service bays, plus 2 approaches and a 3ft sidewalk in front. It works well for me. I heat all required soaps with 1 other 199k unit. How is your equipment room heated?
1 tankless will handle all your bay needs. I would suggest finding and repairing the floor heat loop leak. Do a search on this site for floor heat, heat exchanger, heating self service functions, etc. You will gain a lot of valuable info and it will allow you to ask and get specific answers as...
Several years ago I knew of a young person that did something like what you may be considering. Seem to remember his business may have been called 'My driveway not yours' or similar. He washed and vacuumed and also picked up and returned vehicles. I am quite sure it morphed into detailing. I...
I have Nayax count up on Vacs and Nayax count down on self service bays. Really like the count down with 4 price options for the customer to choose from for self service. Thinking of switching the vacs to count down with a couple price options such as $3 or $5. Keno is right, not to difficult to do.
I had one of his 1st machines, the X-Stream, and ran it for several years. Installed and sold a few. He sold that version to a friend of mine from Iowa. I know he got back into the business with the Blast off, but know nothing as far as if he is still building machines.
It's not going to get above 0 here for 3 days straight so for the 1st time in maybe 20 years I took the wands off in the self service bays and shut the power off to close the bays down. Usually weep and exit doors closed get us through ok but this time we will follow Randy's procedure to a t. I...
Our customers are slowly making the cashless decisions for us. Quarter deposits are decreasing. Bill deposits have risen some, partly due to higher start price, while card use is growing each year at a faster rate.
There is nothing wrong with hydrominders. I would suggest attaching some pics of your equipment with your specific concerns and then getting opinions on whether to replace. Lots of owners patch, patch, and patch some more making the equipment confusing to look at and understand it's use...
Gosh Roz, I have had a completely different experience. I've had great luck with the Nayax VPOS units and use them for automatic paystations, self service bays, and vacs. I had to replace 1 unit, under warranty, out of 14. Rates are good and consistent. Support could be better for sure. I think...
