I called Jim at Etowah last week and left a message. I want to add c.c. to three self serve bays. He still hasn't called me back.
Is anyone's business THAT good these days, that they don't have to provide good service????
Get a good tag cam. It is the only way you can get people to pay for the damage they do to your wash. My camera is not expensive - it is just well placed and I get about 90% of the tags I need.
Other two minor things that I did:
1. I posted the newspaper article that the local paper printed on the three guys that were arrested in one of my burglaries. I had it laminated and wrote in big red letters - 9 MONTHS IN JAIL. Posted it on my community bulletin board. I am amazed at the...
I have 13 cameras that have helped very little in the prosecution of the great number of idiots I have had stealing from me. I have had over 15 break-ins. The thing that has helped me, and is cheaper, is the installation of shock (vibration) sensors. The moment someone uses a hammer or...
My neighbor had some problems with ADT. After install they were reluctant to come out and resolve some issues.
I use DEVCON here in the Florida Panhandle at 4 locations (one of which is residential) and could not be more pleased.
How are you guys alarming these? I want to install a shock sensor, but think that the turning of the dial might set it off, even if I set it at the least-sensitive setting.
If you have room, include a toilet and mop sink. Heated/Air conditioned office.
Hose bib in equipment room and near vacuum islands. Run conduit to outer edge of pavement to allow for future expansion of lighting, additional vacs or surveillance cameras.
And, I wish I had listened to advice...
To get back on topic, I have had constant problems at my wash since I opened 5 years ago. Every 4-5 months I would have a changer or ACW attack. I installed vibration sensors in everything that accepts money and caught a pair of criminals. Since then, not one problem. I thought things would...
Funny. I was at the wash today and saw a "gentleman" on surveillance walking away from his running car towards the dumpster. I rushed out to call to him - "do you need something". Thankfully I caught him before he got started.
Still a mystery why men pee behind the dumpster (all concrete)...
I am sorry. Can FDOT not help you in some way. State representatives need to call for these traffic counts immediately.
I am about to go thru the same thing on my wash and I hope I don't run into the same road blocks. I'll let you know.
Well, that is pretty much how it was here last week and then - bam - on Tuesday the oil was here. My children and I went down tonight to watch the BP workers clean up. Really, it is a joke. About 20 teams - 1 guy with a shovel and 1 guy with a large plastic bag. My guess is they can cover...
Hi Ryko,
Well the beach was closed one day this week when oil suddenly appeared on our beach. It was a shocker. Our sand is not stained as the oil just rolls up into little blobs. However, the beach is open now and the water is clear. There are tar balls - not too many - and BP workers...
Fixed the problem. After chasing our tails with no results, I called a control specialist. With 2 hours ($100) he had the problem fixed.
It was a stuck Dema that would not activate and tripped the breaker.
Pensacola Beach, Florida beach stil clean and BEAUTIFUL
Children went swimming yesterday afternoon. Not a tar ball in sight.
Our house is

Hey Whale,
Four bedroom/3 bath cottage on the sound. Great house for a large group or two familes to share (it has two suites). Summer - $2000/week - Winter - $1000/week. Don't need to work at the wash if you come, but would love to show it off.
Really, our beaches are absolutely beautiful...
I live in the Panhandle of Florida and we have had a few small wafers of oil (looks more like ashphalt) on our beach. However, the media has played up this story in such away that ALL vacationers are cancelling their trips to Florida. I own a beach house rental and have not had one single new...
