That metal connector is what powers both sides of the switch. Should be on 10 and 20 since it’s a 10 position switch. Also needs the timed load coming from your timer hooked to 10 or 20

If the bay is set for 8 coins and comes on with 5, it’s either the timer or coin mechanism. You can test that following the info in the attached photo.
As far as the the functions working on the rotary switch , as long as 11 and 21 are still jumped together, you got a bad switch.
Can you tell us a little more about ruining a Nayax reader with 26.5 VAC? Did the display just go dead or did it quit sending pulses? Just curious, because after reading your post I looked at the specs of the Nayax reader and seen where the recommended incoming voltage was 12-24 VAC or 12-42...
