    Are my memberships profitable

If you want to factor how much it costs to put a car thru the tunnel , only direct incremental costs should be considered. Certain items like A roof depreciation replacement have no direct connection to number of cars washed.

    Credit card pricing

Ticket is higher but Gros margin is lower. Really good gross margin on Gas might be as high as $100 A portion of the swipe fee plus the percentage will nock 10 cents off of that. I did raise Vac Min / Start but kept bays the same. Count up is the game changer.

You need to add a maintenance / repair factor. Likely fluctuates little by package. I would take annul # of cars washed and annual repair cots to make that determination. Also keep in mind that for a new location this factor will be low first couple of years (Depending on Volume) .

Dry brush washers. I can’t keep doing this

    1. If using foam brush without soap I tell them this is not good for there car. The dirt will scratch without the soap lubricating and rinsing. Its the old WIFM Principle What is in it for me. This tells them it's in their interest not to do this. 2. Signs that say use of bay limited to...

I hung curtains at one location a couple of feet in front of the Blower intakes to reduce the amount of moisture they sucked in. I used to question why installers had intakes toward the entrance and now I see they do it the opposite way.

Having solenoids in the tunnel was an older system. Having them in the equipment room closer to the source of the air or liquid makes things easier to work on - Yep - need photos. If soap solution is supplied by an air operated pump the ari regulater to that pump air supply wouldcontrol...

You may have 2 solenoid valves - (Difficult to know details of your system) One for the liquid or if liquid is supplied by an air operated pump to the air supply for the pump and another for the air supply to the arch. .

    Damage claim concern

Really? - Only dealers can supply and apply stickers? Which of course does not indicate one way or the other it was not an OEM item.

Time to hire a General Manager?

Had 4 locations . One with Gas , Tunnel and Store, One with Tunnel and 8 SS Bays and 2 Tunnel only. Each had a more experienced employee who could assist other locations for repairs. If I went out of town I was largely available by phone for emergencies and If I could not resolve an issue...

About 20 years ago I reviewed about 40 claims from the prior year for stuff (4 locations) I replaced due to damage claim. At least 36 were for vehicles 10 years old or older. Some 12-20 years old. Put the 10 year limit on disclaimers and specified the year (Got a sticker to update it each...
