I have to agree with “cfcw”. I’d have to say that 99% of the car wash equipment distributors are nothing more than charlatan’s and they are there for one reason, to take as much money from you as they possibly can. The best thing you can do is LEARN!!! As much as you possibly can about your...
Did you test the 2 commons with your volt meter with the system On or Off? What are you trying to do? Do you have a terminal strip that supplies power to the solenoids, this is where you jumper the commons. Do you have any idea as to what you’re doing with the volt meter?
You should be working from the return end of the zone that’s plugged up. What you’ve done is push the blockage further into the tubing. What’s the pressure rating of the Plex tubing? How much air pressure have you put on the return line? You could try putting 100 psi of air pressure on the...
We clean our credit card readers every 30 – 45 days, they work flawlessly. Credit readers are not made for the harsh car wash environment, they might be water resistant but they aren’t water proof.
So far this year some of the notable things we’ve gotten are 600 lbs. of barbell weights in the garbage can, an abandoned car on blocks with no tires, a 16 foot travel trailer, a 10 foot cab over camper packed full of junk and garbage and the usual bags of household garbage. Sometimes I think we...
We get our relays from these guy’s http://www.galco.com/buy/IDEC/RH1B-U-AC120 It’s not rocket science, anyone with basic electrical knowledge should be able to figure it out. All it is a 120 volt SPDT relay. We found that ePort doesn't know much about the car wash industry, there more into vending.
Over the years we’ve been in self serve car wash equipment rooms of car washes that were for sale that scared the hell out of me. If the public knew how dangerous these car washes were operated they wouldn’t go there, some of them looked pretty good on the outside but inside OMG. Water leaks...
I get PO'd when I get a call someone and I can't understand them because there English is so bad. I had one call me and wanted to put my computer on a Viagra service plan, at least I think that's what he wanted.
We have signs with a phone number to the office, people like to hear a nice...
All you really need to do is install a $10 relay on the out of service light circuit to cut the power to the card reader when the light comes on, that’s what we did when we installed a USA card reader on one of our Hamilton changers 3 years ago. We also got tired of hearing the stacker cycling...
Everyone who has card readers knows they need to clean their credit card readers about every 90 days or so, or at least they should know. Here’s a video of how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZZlfUps2DM who ever told you didn’t need to clean the USA readers needs to be retrained...
I don’t understand what you mean by “Machine Gunning” Do you mean that the pump is cycling On/Off when it’s in a static condition, not pumping any liquids? If it is you’ve got a bad pump or a pump with an internal leak. The pump isn’t building pressure against the solenoid valves that’s why it’s...
The pump is probably worn out if it’s 12 years old. I can understand that you don’t want to spend any money on a piece of equipment that makes you money. What model Sta-Rite model is it? Sta-Rite makes a lot of different model pumps. You can try to rebuild it, we would replace it with a new pump.
We replaced the florescent bulbs at one wash with the direct replacement bulbs, built in driver. Our attitude is let’s see how long they last before getting our panties all twisted up. They’ve got a 5 year warranty, put out more light, cost less to operate than the florescent lights do. So we’ll...
We converted one wash over to the Jarvis 320W Scottsdale retrofit LED. They are absolutely awesome, they seem to be just as bright as the 320w lights they replaced. The 320W Scottsdale lights are a pain in the A$$, they need to be serviced about every 18 months, new capacitors and bulbs. Let’s...
