We've had nothing but problems with IDX coin acceptors. We used to send them in for repair but gave up when it took forever to get one repaired and be disappointed when we would get them back and they didn't work. In the we end we replaced all of them with he Slugbuster III coin acceptors with...
We've been real happy wit the Zierdan booms that we've been using. I don't think your ever going to find a boom that doesn't need a little maintenance from time to time. They all use a "O" ring and some sort of bearing.
We ended up pulling all of the Rowe changers out because we had so many problems with them and their customer service sucked, replaced them with Hamilton’s with a Mars validator, problem solved. Back in the day Rowe was the Cadillac of bill changers, not the case today.
The best advice I can give you is to remove the money and clean out the vacuums daily. We pull the money out the vacuums every afternoon and clean out the bottom trash bin every night.
Husky air compressors are “$hit” for the most part. Read the reviews on the 80 gallon model, not very good. If you’re looking for something to put air in your tires at home a cheap oil less air compressor might be OK, we’d never buy one for any reason.
If it’s the Mega Suds Car Wash at 973 Washington St. in Eden it’s going to need a lot more than just credit cards, bill validators in the bays and more vacuums. It needs more customer base, looks to me like Eden North Carolina is dying a slow death. Take a look at street view.
What hardware is required? Is High Speed internet required? Are the swipers in the bays hardwired or wireless? Is there a computer required in the back room? What are the operating fees? Is there a per swipe fee? How much is the gift/loyalty card program?
We gave up on the IDX coin acceptors years ago when we had a bunch that they said they would take 5 to 6 weeks to get repaired, this is totally unacceptable. I think they must only be repairing coin acceptors in their spare time. We ended up replacing all of them with Slugbuster coin acceptors...
I wouldn’t waste my time sending a 1034R timer in for repair I’d replace it with a LED-6S, they are a much better timer. As our 1034 timers fail we replace them with the LED-6, never have a problem with one of the Dixmor timers and you can see the red display 20 feet away. .
If you use the small screw that comes with the Slugbuster coin acceptor to secure the door it won’t pop open when someone bangs on the door. Problem solved
We bought the individual parts to install/convert over to Mars and got a good price on a couple of recon validators, I think we paid around $225 - $250 to change over. We had a few install problems that were quickly resolved with a phone call. Overall we’ve been very pleased with the conversion.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As the year winds down and we start planning for 2017, it's important to take a few moments to enjoy the little things
We’ve got a pretty good argument going on here in the shop. One of our mechanics wants to connect air to the Dixmor Weepmizer instead of water and purge the lines with air just as if it was water. We have the Weepmizer set to come on at 34 deg. 10 seconds On 50 seconds Off and so on, staying on...
