The funny thing about owning a self serve is, I thought I was going to show up once a week to pick up quarters and take them to the bank. Well not really but it would be nice.
If those traffic counts are accurate then 2 friction IBA's would be the way to go. We had PDQ frictions doing 122 cars on 2 brush unit and 3 brush units doing 139 this past weekend. Not the 350 CPD you might get on some days but close enough at a cheaper price point. I'm sure other friction...
Sorry I don't. We have a local guy that picks up our compressors from time to time and rebuilds the pumps for us. When we get 3 or 4 compressors that need work he swings by and picks them up and a couple weeks later will drop them off. We do the easier stuff such as belts, pressure switches and...
We gave up years ago on those cheap compressors. Ya they fix them under warranty, but sometimes had to wait 4-6 weeks to get them back. At one point we had about 12 in our warehouse that had blown heads. Max life we would get was about 24 months. Now it's all Rol Air or Quincy as those go out.
I would buy the one with the best customer support in the area. You can have the best car wash in the world but if you don't have the support when it breaks down it will cost you big. Both with sales and reputation
We have removed just about all our combo vacs and replaced them with 3 motor vacs and stand alone fragrance units. Sales on combo vacs have always been low due to customer confusion. They would see the change in time if switch was left on fragrance or shampoo and they thought they were getting...
The Car Wash Show 2020 Original Dates Cancelled Due to Coronavirus and Travel Guidance
thinking about running an ad saying, " keep you car Coronavirus free and sanitized, wash here daily"
They both run off the same controller and electronics so they are about the same to work on. Eliminating all the galvanized components and having all the pumps removed from the wash bay and put in the equipment room has us favoring the Surfline more. Plus our average wash time with the Surfline...
We replaced all our touch free units with friction and sales have gone up considerably as well as ticket price. Wash quality is more consistent and no worries when we get vehicles that haven't been washed in 6 months and would complain because there car didn't come out clean with the cheap wash...
Each of our location has 2 sets of vac bags. We ask for them to be cleaned quarterly. Guys remove them and put on the spare bags and take the dirty bags into one of the bays and was them down with HP. Once those dry they go to the next set of vacs and do the same thing.
You have to register with the state to dispense the water in our area. And keep a log of when unit is cleaned and must be done periodically. Seems like more of a PIA.
With that being said, a co workers brother works for a large chain that sells water and since they added ice vending to their...
Open all the tabs on top of the chain and slide the old one out and slide the new one in. You can line up all your hoses and cables in place then close all the tabs
100k a year on each self serve and a auto with a poor quality wash still washes 25 CPD? I would buy all 3 and add new autos in all 3 locations and you should do fairly well for yourself.
