My town demographics are 70,000 people with 8 new express tunnels all less than 10 years old. I did not try to put in a mini tunnel and try to compete. I did try a monthly pass program using my wash card system and did not get enough users with it justify keeping it. I stayed all touchless and...
I found 1000 psi for the Wanner D10 SS pumps is where they like to run. Piston pumps can run for years at 1000 to 1500 psi years if you have the right pump./
First thing to check is the pick up tube. Foam brush solution has a habit of building algae which can clog the inlet screens in the tank. Clean it real well and add a little bleach to the tank to kill the algae if present.
First time in 20 years for the phones to be down like this. Cell phone connections have their problems also. Cell phone in this location would be sketchy due to poor signal and close to airport cutting cell phone signals.
I have been using Hydracell pumps for 30 years and cat/arimitsu pumps for 20. Hydracells do not offer as high of pressure as a piston pump. You should generally run them at 1000 psi. HC can be run dry without damage. The center oring on the HC is what I have a problem with most. It is the one...
At one location my phone line has been down for the last week due to a wide spread outage. I was ab le to juggle phone lines and still accept CC in my SS bays. Otherwise I would be out 500 a day in CC sales. Most of my sales are CC but am glad I still have others methods of accepting payment.
Make the wash consistent. People should get the same experience every time. Make sure all your functions work each time and that you provide repeatable wash experience. It works for McDonalds and every other franchise you can think of.
Most of the IBAs I see now have detached dryers for increased throughput and simpler overall design. I also think you can get a better dry with detached dryers as you have enough room. I have both setups and prefer the detached dryer setup.
I have always priced my on the wash packages with cheapest on top and most expensive on bottom, 30 years and counting. Each wash package has a different name also.
One thing I have always done is have a land line that I forward to my number or my sons when I am not working. That way one number will reach who ever is working. I hate equipment being down for any period of time.
