I agree that commercial appraisers can do a poor job valuing a car wash business, but they will be a part of the process if a bank loan is involved.
When I built my wash in 2005, the bank's appraiser made several mistakes. I dug in and found the errors. The banker gave me a good scolding...
hire a commercial apprsiser.
use the 3-5x gross income multiplier as a start point.
talk to competitors and see if any may be interested.
get financials in order.
do you know your "walk away" number? i know i've had a figure in mind for myself for quite some time and i'm not even close to...
well… This morning I reassembled the seals with O-ring grease, put the head of the pump back on, dropped a three-quarter inch rubber hose into the water feed tank and connected that to the inlet of the pump. After some initial priming chattering, the pump smoothed out and ran great sucking water...
I guess it's possible. I have removed all the inlet plumbing and thoroughly cleaned it all and reconnected using pipe thread compound and Teflon tape. There is a nylon braided plastic hose going from the water tank to the ball valve and I replaced that plastic hose as well. I guess I could try...
it looks like my high pressure seal is two pieces. in the arimitsu video, the high-pressure seal looks like one piece. this is confusing me somewhat. However Gregg does say on the video that some five series pumps came with a back up ring with the high-pressure seal. Maybe that's what I have?
pump chatters when run normally. connecting a hose and spray gun assy to regulator ( eliminating downstream problem) did not change chatter. connecting garden hose to inlet smooths it out. Reconnect inlet plumbing. works ok for a bit then chatters again. cleaned valves numerous times. took...
I went in to the configurations section and changed the parameters for that Swiper. I changed it to count up and then accepted the changes. I waited a few minutes then I went back in and changed it back to count down like it originally was. accepted changes. Waited a few minutes and went and...
I installed some used Swiper's on my vacuums. They are crypto pay. I thought everything was working great until I noticed one of the vacuums seem to be running on a little long. Here's what it's doing. When you swipe the card the Swiper flash is steady blue and you have to press the button to...
definitely freestanding. Less weight rolling back-and-forth on every single pass of the car wash machinery is good for many reasons.
you will have some busy days and some lineups at some point when the current conditions call for everyone to wash. For that reason alone, freestanding is awesome...
I'm thinking about adding a lighted sign inside my automatic wash bay when I add a new top package. something extra to advertise the graphene sealant etc.
Looking for feedback about type, brand, pricing.
Thank you.
four works for me. I have an older cashier and so I can't do buyups. right now I'm $16,18,20,22. A high percentage of the customers get the 22. I'm planning to add graphene and so that will involve a price increase to $25 for the top package. might add a soap or xtra rinse too; not sure yet...
And when someone leaves it on the ground and it gets run over by a car, usually part of the tip breaks off. I just take a hacksaw and cut the broken part off and sand the edges smooth and keep using it.
my business philosophy is that you always want to be re-investing into your business when the time is right. Could I have kept my old sidetrack touch free machine running a few more years? Probably. but for me, the money I spent installing new equipment and refinishing the inside of the wash bay...
The reason I think it works out to have the same price whether cash or credit is that people with a credit card almost always spend more money and not just the minimum. I use count up and see many charges well above the minimum which for me is five dollars, cash or credit. With count up they...
