They started gluing the plug into the bill acceptor because they didn't originally use a pinned plug, and it would go in any direction and smoke the acceptor. They might still glue them in because they can work their way out.
I don't know if all the Coleman units use them, but all the ones I've worked on have the old ITT style that need a wrench, and there's zero room to turn it IF you can even get it on the nut.

I know a couple owners who use a really cheap plastic carabiner to hold the latch closed. The people that go through the vac trash usually put them back.

I had thought about that, but they don't even scoop the trash out of the way for the door to close itself. I had to lock the hell out of them, and they finally quit messing with them.
