Well, there you go...different experiences. The 30some RegOs that we've installed in the last 3 years perform as reliably as the ones installed over the last 30 years.

The brass check valve is likely re-branded RegO. RegO products are not inexpensive. We install RegO's Stainless Steel version. Most have never been touched. Many are over 30 years old.
