    Arch covers

We use playground post padding. They come in 8 foot sections and a variety of colors. You can purchase them at a playground supply store or online. It still runs about $120 for a lower and upper arch with ties and pipe insulation, but they have about a 10 year life span, dramatically reduce the...

Water damage to IBA control box

Are you sure this was caused by water damage? It is unusual that the VFD closest to the vent didn't get wet, just the one sandwiched between the other two. I would think that this could only happen if the water dropped straight into the Trolley VFD, which would lead me to check the door seals.

    Laser M5 problem

I would start with the reclaim solenoid valve. If it doesn't close the reclaim will continue to feed the pump as long as it has more pressure than the overhead tanks inlet side of the pump.

Recommendations for new touch free wash

You could just replace the 4000 bridge with a stainless steel one from PDQ or Wash World for less than $35,000. If a distributor installs them then they come with warranty. The 5 we installed in 2017 still run great.

Laser 4000 stops at the back of vehicle!

Also don't forget to make sure the ultrasonics are clicking.

Laser 4000 stops at the back of vehicle!

I am assuming that the machine is getting stuck on the tbar at the rear passenger side of the vehicle, based on what you have checked so far. I would start by checking the interposing relay. It controls the passenger side measurement. If it is not working correctly then the trolley will go wide...

PDQ 4000 still a good machine?

They're fairly simple to work on. Parts are still readily available. None of the new touchless machines can produce a better car, they just offer more show. A couple of things to think about would be what version chip are inside the A-5000's mounted to the doors of J0 and how much is it to...

After thoughts from the 2019 Nashville Car Wash Show

I use to go to the show every 3 or 4 years and was always amazed at the new stuff on display. Now I go every year and it seems like there are only a couple of new things to see each year, but I don't go for the equipment anymore. Now I go for the people. What I learn from talking with others...

    Touch Less Automatic Chemicals

I used the CPS-100 with a light blue tip for 3 years and it worked fine most of the time. There were a couple of times a year that it wasn't able to get the road film off. After I worked with CSI on their new setup, I was able to get the road film off during one of the challenging times. Then I...

    Touch Less Automatic Chemicals

Now that the show is over and CSI has finally introduced their new soaps for touchless car washing, I can say that I have had good luck with their 205 mixed with 715 for lo pH and 224 mixed with 515 for high pH. I tested this setup for them in November and found it to be really close to our JBS...

    Touch Less Automatic Chemicals

I run CPS-200 with a red tip, CPS-201 with a pink. In order to better deal with the eyebrow, I use CPS-104 with a light blue tip and CPS-105 with a pink.

    Touch Less Automatic Chemicals

I use JBS's COMPASS line and apply the boost through a double injector.

    Touch Less Automatic Chemicals

Hi wash12. I run acid and then alkaline. I run both with boosters. Depending on the time of year anywhere from 114:1 to 170:1

    Laserwash 4000 Programing

It's not unusual to use one product to look like a two step. It allows you to run the second pass with less chemical while maintaining show. It also gives your first pass more dwell time since it doesn't react with it. I run a lo/high two step and have to use a dwell between each product to give...

    Touch Less Automatic Chemicals

For our areas road films, JBS's new two step COMPASS set up will out clean all of the tunnels around us. I also had success with CSI's experimental two step set up last November. The days where touchless was just a "maintenance wash" have been over since last year.

    Best Dryer Options

We just replaced 3 with legs with Premier Dryers. They made the legs to fit the PDQ floor anchors. It made switching them a lot easier. Here's a picture of one.

Laserwash 4000 Arch turning too early.

This is usually a complex problem. The lw4000 goes around the vehicle on spot free by crossing the front of the vehicle until it sees the x24 left limit proximity sensor come on (treadleplate design) or until the VT card counts the proper number of pulses on the x30 width pulse prox and tells...

    Purchasing my first wash

White works well because it says clean during the day and can be used at night to make the building glow, becoming it's own sign. You can even used colored led strips to make the walls change colors.

    Owner operater

It depends. Your locations cater to people in one of two niches. Those that want to take the time to do it themselves and those that only want touchless washing. Most new tunnels can't win these people over. Focus on being the best self serve and touchless car wash and you should be okay. If you...
