Caution, lots of states have anti entrapment laws, meaning you cant have a situation where a customer can become trapped in a building. There has to be a way out. What would happen if the doors didnt open and they didnt have a cell phone to call for help. I worry about that with our automatic...
We bought new vac hoses from kleen rite last year, i have had nothing but problems with them unraveling and or splitting in between the ribs. Of course you dont notice it until it is really bad, meaning customers used it in that state and probably just got aggravated. It is so bad that i havent...
Im not sure how APW did it, but i used a bright flood light inside a reflective shield (the old kind you used to use working on a car in the garage with a clamp on it and a metal reflective shield) and i taped a little tree freshner in front of it. That gave me a shadow in a dark room. It wasnt...
APW i saw this post last year and thought it was a great idea and really well done. I decided to make my own ripoff of it this year. Mine didnt turn out as nice as your wifes did, but i added my own twist to it. Please Don't be angry, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?? Lol
I...
Last year we had several bouts of negative 15 degree temps here. The wash is located on a hill above a lake in new hampshire. It can be like a wind tunnel at times. We still dont add doors. We use a custom weep system and anti freeze chemicals. When it drops too cold usually the foam brush will...
I have three In bay, on the wall, air shammy units in myself self serve bays, and one unit in particular constantly burns out the lightbulbs that light up the dome. I cannot figure out the problem and it is only this one unit. I’ve tried LED bulbs and fluorescent Twyst bulbs. Sometimes the bulb...
Yes and yes.... my customers leave it on the ground two or three times per week. Sometimes other customers pick it up sometimes we do. No different then finding the foam brush or spray wand on the ground though. Occasionaly it breaks. 99.9% of the time it is the 1/4”x1/4” mxm fitting between the...
Mjwalsh, you have to be able to respond to those customers better... lol. Every single touchless wash made has high pressure underbody washes as part of the equipment. Whats the difference between underbody wash at a pdq g-5 car wash, or doing it your self in a self serve bay?? Or any underbody...
I know on my airlift doors that are run by pdq g-5 units there is a relay box on the wall and inside there are relays for open and close for each door. Occasionally those go bad and the door opens but the relay never clicks telling the door to close. Replace the relay and it works fine again.
there is probably a pressure difference, I don't know what it is at this exact moment, but it isn't significant. if I turn the underbody wand upside down and point the nozzles at the ground the entire wand will "levitate" or a better description is take off like a rocket, when I pull the...
anyone know of anything good out there? I got an email from apexcctv saying they were offering 30% off cameras and whole systems, that's not bad. I know kleenrite is offering free shipping and other deals. anything else industry related?
jeff its a wand that hangs from the wall, not something that is mounted to the floor. I get a lot of sand and mud in my ss bays as I am next door to a motorsports dealer so I get lots of customers rinsing off atv's, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, etc... I will get that mud no matter what. in my...
In southern climates you could use a 3 way flow diverter valve in bay to switch back and forth, but it wouldnt work if you needed weep.

The more i think about this set up the more i realized recreating it cheaply depends on where your wash is located. If your southern climate then You could simply use a splitter and feed both the high pressure wand and underbody wand at the same time. They would only spray when someone pulled...
I have 2 of them. They are good and customers love them. Main problem is educating the customers to know what it is and how it works. Once they see it they all say hey thats cool, or thats a great idea. But the signage that comes with it really sucks explaining what it is and how it works. I am...
I am interested in how the relays work long term. I use relays for my colored in bay led lights and I am having problems with them now (about 2 years in) with relays sticking in the on position. I have been told by my local electronics store that relays have trouble with led lights and it is a...
