    Blendco Bug Remover

We use c.a.r. Products, they are owned by dublois who own the blendco name, so they are the same company, i was using the foaming scented bug remover from c.a.r. But then they got rid of it, a consequence of the merger between c.a.r. And dublois.... i had my chemical guy send me a sample of the...

    Unattended tunnel incident

We were back open tuesday afternoon with some creative repairs..... lol. We lost a belanger uniarch, wall sign, photo eye, belanger wheel sprayer treadle on the passenger side, she hit the wall in at least 4 places, and pulled the hose from the boom.... it really could have been much worse...

    Unattended tunnel incident

I have mentioned before that we run an unattended tunnel. Actually it is attended from 9-5 daily but we are open 24 hrs. Normally we run with minimal problems, the occasional conveyor jam and drunks being the worst of them. However sunday we collided with an elderly woman.....literally. Here...

    Cars not staying in Neutral!

Yeah it is getting tough. Predictive braking, auto windshield wipers,etc... we are across the street from a volvo dealership so we see a lot of new ones. To get them in neutral it is a process. It is something like, shift into neutral, which automatically puts on the parking brake. Then to get...

    Hot Water in Self Service

I would say it isnt necessary but it does help to melt snow and ice out of hard to reach areas like wheel wells etc... however that means you are spending extra money to heat the water just so people can spend LESS time spraying ice etc off their cars..... kind of backwards thinking if you ask...

    Clothing/uniforms and jackets

Does anyone have any ideas on good winter jackets/hooded coats for the car wash environment? We have always provided hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and lightweight spring jackets. But i have a few long time employees i would like to get good winter coats for this year. It has to be...

    Naming Packages

Our packages are named VIP, WORKS, PREMIUM, AND BASIC. One thing we did is our menu signs are set up with expensive packages on the left because people read left to right. That way they see the VIP package first. The font size also gets smaller with the cheaper packages. Its always amazing to me...

How to inject antifreeze into lines?

I have been told that even anti freeze chemicals will freeze up below 10/15 degrees. So all bets are off when there is negative temps. My foam brush will freeze with anti freeze chems in them but we put up a sign from kleen rite that says brushes may not work in freezing weather. Otherwise i...

Door operator opening slow when cold

I also noticed a lot of oil leaking out of the bottom of the motors (ovitor) all the time. Since it is supposed to be sealed thats trouble. Maybe you are low on oil and in the cold weather it runs slow? Here is a pic of the invoice for switching to the airlift motor kit. We did it last...

Door operator opening slow when cold

We have an old wynstar door too. We had nothing but problems with the ovitor motor that runs it. Turns out there is a circuit board inside the black cover that "flexes" from the torque of the motor. That board would eventually get little cracks in the circuitry which would cause the door to act...

    PDQ Laserwash 360 "Ghost"

I have heard that from pdq a lot, about the sd cards being full and causing problems. Clearing it out has never solved any of my problems. I am curious of a few things, do you have a no power weep or regular weep setup? Also does the laserwash have a "debugging" feature like the g-5 does? That...

    Pdq just bought belanger

True, but belanger already sells direct to the customer. If you need something you call them and they ship it to you. With pdq you have to order through a distributor. They wont sell direct to you. My guess is it wont be long until dover switches belanger to the same system.

    Pdq just bought belanger

I should have added that the belanger tech support guy who called me was on the west coast setting up for a trade show and it was 6am his time. He got the notification of the call and called me back. Thats pretty impressive to me and it has stuck with me for years since it happened. I have no...

    Pdq just bought belanger

I like pdq, but their aftermarket parts are ridiculously expensive. We also use belanger equipment and i like them too. One time on a Saturday morning at 9 AM on the East Coast I called Belanger for tech-support, I got an answering machine and did not leave a message, which I expected since it...

On the login home screens for the g-5 units pdq is announcing, as of 18 hours ago, that their parent company dover has bought belanger inc. belanger now becomes part of “opw vehicle wash solutions” a dover company....

Vacuum Motor "Upgrade" for strongest suck

We use 2 different kinds of dilling harris vacs at one site that we have been rehabbing recently. I noticed a drop in suction and set out to solve the problem. I replaced all the door seals and gaskets under the motors. I bought new filter bags and new hoses. I still had a problem with suction...
