Call CryptoPay tech support. The configuration you mention they refer to is called the side car configuration. They can help you wire it so the swiper button turns off both devices.
Normally yes. It is a tech issue that probably has more to do with the cc processor than CryptoPay
the difference in fee is small and the combination of devices is rare so do not overthink it. But does make a case for just using all tap plus devices if doing a replacement of a device.
Note. If a customer uses tap on say a bay and swipe on something else like a vac or just does it a different way for a second transaction CryptoPay treats them as separate transactions since one is a EMV transaction. Recently learned about that undocumented feature. Minor but does increase...
Interesting. Short (now) funny story that’s related.
So I finally convince Hamilton to replace the readers as these doors are brand new.
I get the two readers and swap them out. The replacements were reconditioned readers as you could tell that someone had used them before. They seem to be...
I doubt it is the reader. It’s their controller software has undocumented features.
it will reject credit card use and disable the bill acceptor until I physically reboot the GL. Happens randomly. I suspect the cause is a customer trying to use the reader without going through the exact...
I am familiar with CryptoPay for my vacs and bays. I am giving it some serious consideration as the IDTech readers are proving to be a bear to get to work properly on a consistent basis. CryptoPay now offers a Tap Plus version but you need to ask for it from KR as it is not currently listed...
In hindsight that would have been something to seriously consider. Since Hamilton does not support use of CryptoPay devices I wanted to go with their solution as we have other issue with their equipment now and then and did not want finger pointing.
do you have a tap plus?
Or tap with swiper...
You can upgrade an existing Goldline that just has a Magstripe swiper for a credit card reader to a new reader that can accept the chip via insert, swipe, or tap. IDTech makes the reader. It looks nice but requires the customer to press a green button prior to use. Can also accept all forms...
Has anyone installed the Hamilton Goldline IDTech credit card reader with the retrofit doors? Would love to compare notes with anyone who has the GL IDTech reader (offline via phone).
We changed all our CryptoPay swipe to Tap Plus. Easier to use and more reliable. Customers seem to get it too. Having the button separate from the device also seems to help the process....
Bays look nice! Trying to figure out the optimal lumens. Yours are 7K lumens which probably is enough. Guessing you have one pack per wall or two per bay?
Even with 4K cameras if the light is wrong or the angle is off it can be hard to ID people. The FB suggestion may be your best avenue and I would talk to local PD as they might know or recognize someone. Often it is not someone’s first time being a shithead.
Anyone replace a dampener on a pump stand. I assume that you just unscrew from the T and put a new one on? Asking because of the note about pre charged on the bulb.
after eight years one of the dampeners is leaking at the relief side when pump is in use.
