I have worked in telephony for almost 30 years. Perhaps it would be better if you started it with what you the various lines for.
For example, we have no POTS (plain old telephone lines) at our location. We have a toll free number and a virtual PBX and we can tie VoIP handsets to it if we...
cwguy,
I have spoken to some distributors, but I get almost all my stuff from KR...and yes I'm in Canada.
One of the issues I am seeing is that many don't seem to have enough skills to take it all on. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, computers, etc. I am offering to stay on for up...
All,
I have already posted it online and talked to a couple of local operators that I know. One made me an offer, but because he was building another wash at the time, he could not get the funding to pay what I considered my minimum.
Since the wash is in a small city, I think the likeliest...
all,
I have quietly put my car wash up for sale. I have not enlisted a commercial realtor (so far) and doing it 'myself' at this point.
One opportunity I have is to run an ad in our national car wash magazine. It would be the "annual car wash show edition" and so would get a fair bit of...
Yes, all electronic coin mechs reject them. That's how I come across them...people say "hey your machine isn't working!" You just need to bounced them on a countertop along with a real one and you can quickly hear the difference. But in your hand, you can't. They are somewhat rare, I don't...
Bubbles,
The system is working fine, but by the time I actually had it all done and rolled out I missed part of the xmas shopping season. So sales have not been robust but with time I think I should do well.
Regardless, the roll out has not cost me much and it does provide the customer...
"by not carefully comparing the studies about the tax savings of the dollar coin & other higher denomination coins against the studies touting the one dollar paper federal reserve note"
Those have been done...the EU & CAN have adopted them a while back. Not sure what's blocking the US from...
I do not believe in Bitcoin and I don't think its the answer. However, it is part of the early days of an international virtual currency. It's just the beginning. But this is not an 'if' it ever happens, but a 'when'. Just like every other new and disruptive device or technology, it takes...
But I still can't make out what you are saying exactly. I don't think your crazy, but I do believe you think that we are following along with what your saying. Everything you post I have to re-read several times before I start getting the meaning of what you are trying to convey.
With...
All I can say is that if we need to try and figure out what and why your fighting what you think your fighting, then you won't get too far... Crap...I'm even sounding incoherent trying to explain why incoherent is not a winning strategy...S#it...I did it again :)
"To me if they do that ... I will have to probably replace three Paypal Here cell phone card swipers & like I mentioned before a credit card receptacle on my ATM. I am sure glad I did not laugh too much at certain specific laundromat owners when about 5 years ago the practicality of ATMs began...
This is where I would have gotten his plate from my plate camera, called the cops and had him come out and clean it and be completely embarrassed by it. I would have enjoyed that part.
The North American banks have been really slow to adapt and the mess they are in at this point is of their own making. Just about everyone I know, including myself have had their CC cards compromised at one point. That is their fault for such poor theft prevention and not keeping up with the...
Mike,
I don't get your mindset....or understand if you are arguing for or against the CC market.
Having working in tech for 3 decades, I like to tell people "Communications and the internet didn't change the world, databases did" For better or worse, you cannot avoid the databases and...
When I use to install communications lasers, I cam across a credit card size infra red detector. Its a nice thing to have to quickly check remotes.
I guess you'll need to find another remote to try for starters.
"we should not be in favor of anything that diminishes the use of higher denomination coins & the use of more $5 & $10 paper notes."
I completely disagree. CC users buy on avg 40% more and I don't have to deal with the security, handling and deposit costs. It would save me hours of grief every...
Two power supplies in a year doesn't sound right. What is the power source like? Is it clean, what's the voltage and current draw? Are they in spec? Does the voltage dip when high draw device kicks in (like the dryers, HP pump, etc)? Is the WSII on its own circuit or shared with other...
Interesting ready this....
For a Canadian perspective, we use the chipped CC almost exclusively for some time now...along with a PIN. Even at gas bars...put card in, it holds it, detects chip then asks for pin, then releases the card. My WSII creates confusion with customers cause they expect...
Dangerous and stupid...the thief that is. He could have killed with his reckless behavior...for what!?
Not sure I would have done anything different than the owner, but he may want to invest in a plate cam. Mine was $200.
I also have a way to sound off messages and alarms sounds remotely...
