I am always intrigued when I use the newer style Dyson hand dryers that some restaurants have. I thought if you designed drying the same way on a car it would work better. It looks as though more streamlined smaller nozzle push more air almost like compressed air. If you could get this...
Here were the items I budgeted for when I built my first car wash:
Land – ($100k – $250K)
Site Work – ($75k – $200k)
Soft Fees Including architectural, engineering, impact, traffic studies, appraisals, loan closing costs, construction permits, etc. ($50k – $150k)
Sewer/Water Tap-Ins – ($10k –...
Awesome,
I had two of my five pits done yesterday and will probably just have these guys do the other three. Let's talk and coordinate for next time. Mine need done about once a year. PM me your email and we can have lunch sometime.

Bill,
The "magic fork extensions" are very interesting to me because I already have a small kuboto BX23 tractor. I did a google search and could not find anyhting on them. Do you know where to buy them?
Thanks,
Buzzie
I have a WW 1.0 and I agree with his wheel assessment. I would replace prox and cable first though. Before I would replace wheels I would check both motors with a megohmeter at the peckerheads to rule out motor problems. I bought a nice megohmeter at Grainger for about $130 and have used it for...
I just searched a bunch of threads but could not find anything on this. My older wash has 48"x84"x48" deep pits (500 gallons). In the past I have always had them pumped $1300+ for 5 bays. I want to get some casual labor to clean them by hand this time. This might be a stupid question but do I...
I guess nothing ever happened with this. I am trying to sell (or throw in dumpster) a bunch of stuff that others might be able to use. I also tried to post a very vague thread about selling my dog wash bays that I believe got censored yesterday. The classifieds should be a free service to drive...
Here is what I would look for in a new touchless IBA:
1. Cleaning Ability
2. Reliability
3. Drying capability /wax application
4. Speed
5. Water usage.
6. Cost
Probably weighted in that order too!
I am assuming that you will do your due diligence when it comes to the reliability and financial...
I was thinking that the sales are substantial enough in our segment that they would have at least one guy assigned to the market. If we could find that guy and let him know with a simple packaging change he (or she) could substantially increase the sales of AA, then they would listen. I actually...
I know this means that I must have too much time on my hands, but I sent a letter to Armor All (who was owned by Clorox at the time), stating that they could sell a bunch more product if they change the labeling on their bottled vending products (i.e. Tire Foam and 4 oz protectants) If they...
Did you check the feed tank or lines to your pumps? Filtered clogged? Hose collapsed? Water getting to pumps. This sounds like the pumps are starving for water. This will cause pulsation all the way to the bays.
I used compressed air all the time when I detailed cars back in the 80's. My first thought when I received that same email was that someone would blow dirt in their eye or put the nozzle in their eye and hence another insurance claim.
The negativity will save you a bunch of money and time. You better listen to some of what you hear from of the guys who have been in the business for a while or you will regret it for a long time.
Tom, from Autec is correct auto bay returns are much higher than hand wash bays, but hand wash...
