Once again, I am replacing the hose on my Coleman shampoo/vac combo unit. I am using flex hose this time (the same hose used on oscillators on their water wizards). Problem is that the old hose is gaulded where it connects to handle. I tried heat and ruined the switch. Now I am trying to...
Maybe it is something that is the norm in your market area. I do not have any preg guns, buckets or brushes in my touchless automatic bays, nor do any of my competitors . I am not sure what equipment your running but an upgrade to avoid this might be in order.
I just read the article you posted. It is somewhat confusing to me. If you are purchasing an existing car wash, I guess you could buy the real estate and do a sale/lease back for the equipment portion. This would be non-conventional for most banks and leasing companies. You could also do a land...
Earl,
You are correct in your assumptions and observations, although most third party leasing companies are quite protective in who they will represent as vendors, mostly for the reasons you stated. M
My recommendation, if you want to lease, is to get an equipment quote from whatever company...
Before getting into the car wash business I was in the equipment leasing business for a good part of my professional life. I currently have two leases with my car wash, an LED sign and reclaim system. Leases have a few advantages, usually a quick credit turnaround time, and less paperwork. Rates...
After all these years of owning a Water Wizard 1.0. I still do not know what the purpose of the "Can eyes" on that are riveted to the front of the gantry. I know the measurement eyes, the auto height adjustment eyes and the exit eyes. But do not know what these do. They look somewhat mangled and...
Cap rate is actually "capitalization rate" which is a valuation method for commercial real estate "net income/cap rate = selling price". If I valued my washes using any reasonable cap rate valuation they would sell for $500k more than I can actually get. They still are not worth selling for less...
Robert,
I am curious how you account for labor, hours of operation, and the additional equipment maintenance that an express wash requires.
I am not trying to dispute what your saying about the added quality and thru-put that an express offers but want your opinion on these added expenses in...
My Coleman unit would do that when the relays in the entry unit would start going bad. They would fire the wash randomly. Worth looking at if the technology is the same.
I am not sure how many of you guys had the pleasure of meeting Steve Ludman from Blendco but he passed away suddenly Tuesday at the young age of 51 from what I was told as some type of blood infection that made him have flu like symptoms Monday and took his life Tuesday (Hopefully I am getting...
Definitely the check valve. I just had the same post about 4 months ago. I swapped out the check valve up in the manifold near the bay and it fixed it instantly. It was driving me crazy for two weeks until someone here coached me to this solution.
$800k for city, st and sewer tap-ins or for total project? My first wash was just under $1.1M (a 3 and 2) and the second wash I built in a very pricey part of town was $1.4 for the same. Both included land. What's interesting is the wash in the older, lower income part of town grosses $100k more...
Tom,
Never had one of those go bad in 8+ years. Which means mine will probably fail tomorrow. LOL. Make sure you are getting good air before you spend the $$$.
Buzzie
I am confused. I think Warrior Wash is correct. If it is what controls the boom tilting back and forth. I misread earlier, it is the drive motor that moves the boom up and down. I have only had to replace the air lines once in 8 years and I think I replaced the air solenoid once as well on the...
I am pretty sure this uses the same motor and transmission as the gantry drive motors. Texas Car Wash Supply has these motors for much less. I just bought their stainless motor as a back up. I also have used alternative Baldor motors for drive motors. Check the motor and see if it is the same as...
