I agree 100%.
I know a guy who charges $9, $10, $11 and $12 - it is a tunnel, not an IBA.
$9 is the basic and $10 includes an under spray. In salt-heavy upstate NY, he easily gets at least the $10 for 5 months out of the year - nobody even looks at the $9.
He's then structured his pricing...
I've seen two separate locations with 4 Lasers and neither neither of them warranted it, in my opinion. One was a stand alone wash that started out as 2 laser 4000's and 2 self serves. The owner must have been doing well because he converted the self serves to 4000's within 2 years, hence the...
I'm not criticizing your set up at all - I commend your ingenuity. Just wondering why you do not put your chemical on first - on the dry tire/wheel - like in this video. It seems as though you would not have the problem with the tire being too wet and the chemical being diluted when it goes...
That is exactly what I think of cloth - a mitter with pressed cloth with a good detergent is very gentle and effective - used them in tunnels for years and never had any claim due to a mitter. I like the Ryko machines a lot, but I am a bit hesitant on a top wheel because it may be less...
I remember this unit - Ryko called it the Monarch with Friction Curtain. There was one installed in a Sunoco station in Sidney, NY, I believe. I used it - it was something different. No friction on the sides, just the retractable mitter.
Thanks for all the responses. It might be a little while before I get the chance to visit a site, but I would like to see one at some point.
I have heard great things about Washworld as a company and I don't want to leave that stone unturned.
Thanks again for all the responses.

Perhaps rather than advertising how much business you have done, you can annually celebrate your wash's birthday. Like "Happy Birthday Joe's Car Wash. 20 years and still washing." Something to that effect.
Offer discounts, raffled prizes, free washes, anything you can muster up. It's your...
Waxman,
FWIW - I have found that even with extra heated presoak, this time of year (at least in the northeast) is very difficult to heat the surface of the car for any period of time. The presoak drops in temp in the distance from the nozzle to the car, then it hits a car surface that may be...
Can you just set the spinners to operate for one full pass - that way you can have some assisted cleaning on the entire rocker panels and wheels, and don't have to worry about triggering and stopping in two locations. Maybe they could be active during the prewash or trifoam application if that...
I know this thread is over one year old with no replies - but after doing some research - I an interested in the same product and was wondering if anyone has tried it.
Maybe termn8tr gave it a shot?

When we started out with our first Southern Pride Turbo Wash back in the '80's, it did a low pressure presoak, a high pressure soap, high pressure wax and then high pressure rinse - total of 4 cycles/passes with the first lp and the remaining three hp.
Soon after we were in operation, they...
You might also want to try foaming up the chemical a bit more to allow it to stick to the car better/longer, since there will not be a follow-up pass and the dwell will be longer.
In addition to explaining it to your customers, the added foam will also be perceived as a compensation for the...
I might be unconventional and in the minority on how I approach this, but I have always followed a few rules when considering upgrading equipment:
1. Is the existing machinery paid up? I want to feel like I got my money out of the existing equipment - hopefully you are at this point.
2. Is a...
Waxman,
I know another poster already said this, but I agree that you have a big advantage over many other operators, in that you already have labor on-site. I know it is not idle labor that can suddenly be used to prep vehicles or interact with every car wash customer, but you at least have...
