That's crazy if that's true. There are 3rd party repair companies too, but may have to ship machine to them, so not really feasible a lot of times. The cummins machines have been workhorses in our experience. We use jetscan for bills and jetsort for coins. Both have given little to no trouble

Water works too, same method. Or put in a squirter bottle and have a helper spray the drill area while you drill. I've used both methods

Trick I learned from a service guy installing mei kit on our acw, he had his bench grinder and drill but sharpening jig setup next to the acw. Kept his bits sharp constantly and drill through those SS doors pretty quick

Need to talk with local distributors that can do the work and get you the equipment you need, they will get you quotes.

What kind of machine is this for? Might be a good opportunity to do an mei upgrade if you have to spend some $ anyway

Percentage isn't everything, volume is far more important. I personally wouldn't give up volume just to even out percentages, that's just my opinion though, everyone will have to make their own business decision on that. End of the day, the goal is maximum profit

We have been doing the exact same thing because of the same reason you stated. Quality doesn't seem as good. We had replaced some the looked original to the wash, and a year later some of the new ones were leaking.

Are you sure you got the correct model? They are supposed to be drop in replacements as far as I know. Any help from the people you bought them from?

We've had 2 brand new talos fail in changers in less than a year. The price they are new, I would expect them to last more than a year without having to touch them. They were replaced with AE units. Wouldn't even want to guess their lifespan in a SS bay.

Why are you replacing? The AE validators are superior to the Talos. Send the AE validators in for refurbishment

I would assume they already have a motor starter wire for HP. If another is needed for a procon or similar, can still use 1 wire back to the ER and then split off from there to solenoids and relays/mx-8. Pretty sure can make 1 wire work in almost all situations to avoid cost and time of running...

Probably not many times it won't be possible, if you need more than 1 wire per function you can take 1 wire back to the ER and split from there. So, probably possible in every situation.

If you have 2 spare wires, you can add 2 more functions in most cases

I think that is relative to the local market - $2 is probably viewed as a big jump in small town USA

Do you have competition in town for ss or touch free? That will dictate a lot of how much and how fast you can increase prices. Too big of a gap on touch free prices vs your competitors and you'll lose some customers, even if your wash is better, you'll still lose some. Up to you to determine...

They have a lot more stuff they can throw on the car in the same time period, increasing perceived value, even though it may not actually be increased value. Also, most EE are focused on membership, so single wash prices are sometimes ridiculous at very membership driven sites.
