When I make my hoses, I mic or use dial calipers and check the crimped diameter to make sure its in tolerance. Like already mentioned, tolerances are given for matched ends and hose..I've never had an end pop off! Thats crazy!
Why do manufacturers do this??? I know why, but seriously?! Install proprietary controllers that could easily have been accomplished using a relay for each bay and a motor starter! I have a Dultimier SFR that uses relays and a motor starter for the main pump and a simple timer to flush the...
Curious....Whats the purpose of connecting the heaters if they both run/fire at the same time? Wouldn't they both run exactly the same if not connected? Also what is the vent length dip switch? I don't remember any thing about that. My exhaust vent goes straight up (maybe 12 ft) with a 180° turn...
What you are seeing makes total sense on the Scrubbing off 2°....You say it stays off for 42 minutes starting at 75°...Then once off, scrubs 2 degrees from outlet v/s return temps till it reaches 55°...Your differential is 20°....So if it takes 42 minutes to circulate the fluid 10 times, which...
Good catch! Wonder how many years I have left?! My system just turned 12yo....The gpm through my heater has remained unchanged at 6.0gpm the entire time, even with the tiny passages in the Takagi Heat Exchanger....I think that reading would be a good value to monitor to see if/when an...
Galvanic Corrosion has nothing to do with the pex and oxygen free part to a degree. It has to do with the Milivolt current produced when two dissimilar metals touch and an electrolyte flows across the 2 different metals. Copied from Wikipedia that explains it better than from my memory...
Because they already have all the information they are asking for through Income Tax and State Licenses. This is just another over reach of gov't that creates waste and cost tax payers more money. I'm hoping they saw the Trump Train coming and getting this shut down before he has to do it!
Good news! Thanks Keno for letting us know! If it goes completey through, wonder what will happen with all the "Data" that has already been collected? I'm one of those....I filed about a month ago...
Even though this is an awsome looking system, I agree with Blanco....You will definetly have issues with Galvanic Corrosion down the road because of the dissimilar metals where they touch each other.
I have first hand experience....My 2" water supply is heavy wall copper. Years ago, whoever...
A lot of us that have older vacs that didn't have displays, upgraded them to add a 24v transformer, an LED7 timer, and Mercury Relay to handle the load...One of the best retrofits I've done at the CW....The 24v tx and mercury relay live in the dome of the vac. Here is a thread I created on the...
I just chechked and my PRV is 150 psi...I don't think it would ever work as there would be a catestrophic failure somewhere else! LOL As mentioned earlier, I only heat the glycol to 90° in the secondary piping to the bays...Not much expansion...and I have the Expansion tank...You'll want to...
The output on the heater will not be at the same pressure as the inlet. The output will be the system pressure. I'll have to look tomorrow and see if I have the 150psi T&P valve....I'm pretty sure I didn't change it out. Also, I only run 10psi system pressure. Been that way ever since...
For people following this thread, I like posting efficiency results of installing a system like this over paying out the A$$ for propane or NG with the old dinasour sytems we used to have....There were very few hours that the floor heat "Wasn't" running the whole 29 days in this billing cycle...
Answers in Bold Italic:
I'm trying to finalize the exact location of components in each loop. After looking at many diagrams it isn't very clear to me. Even though I have seen a few online diagrams that contradict this, I will call the boiler loop the primary and the floor tubing loop the...
I'll answer this one first....I have often wondered the same thing. I am wondering if the Grundfos pumps they use supply a higher pressure OR are they just running lower volume at higher temps? It muight be worth a call to them and ask the flow and pressure of the Grundfos pump they use? Our...
Since you are running 2 heaters, you'll get more flow and pressure with the 2400-45-3P than I'm getting with my (2) 013's....Did you check amperage on the 2400 series pump? Its 3.6a at 115v. Make sure your relays and aquastats handle the extra load. The 013's are only 2.0a. You'd think almost...
You are taxing my 'ol brain! LOL....On my Takagi, I know I get 40psi at the inlet using (2) 013's in series. I have a pressure guage attached to check it. Maybe its a bonus running them in series? When setting the output temp to 105°, the heater regulates flow based on inlet pressure and...
