Uh oh. What kind of electrical problem? In 24 years we have had no major issues whatsoever with any of these vacs at any of our car wash locations. Just normal wear issues.
BRILLIANT. I love that. Even setting it at 15-20 seconds would work great. I’m going to have my electrician put a relay in each bay. The only customers of mine that won’t like it are those that stop the water to do some scrubbing of tires, washing with a mit, etc. but keep the timer running...
Most chargebacks cost you $30-$60 total counting fees. What is your max?
True, but then every time someone scrolls past that when flipping the dial, it would kill the wash. My customer would HATE that. Constantly having to reslide their cards to restart it? Not too mention the increase in...
What a JOKE! I have every detail from every transaction the last 18 years on my Washgear system. The police love it. I have info to them so quickly that there have been times they have beat the idiot to their own house. Priceless to have the cops waiting there when they get home.
I have had returns stretch out for 2-3 years with them. Once they claimed I never sent the item back to them. Good thing I keep all my UPS tracking numbers.
so I saw someone said to switch the word “Stop” to “off”. Just so you know, ours has said “off” for 24 years and we have lots of people turn it to off and just drive off. Even though we have major signage telling the customer to PRESS THE STOP BUTTON WHEN DONE. People are dumb.
Man that sucks. I have mine time out at 20 minutes ($17.50 max) and it helps people spend loooots of money in my bays. If they had to reswipe 3 times I think they would just figure they’d washed long enough and hang it up. But I have Washgear so I’m allowed to pick a fantastic processor and...
Washgear. I have yet to lose a chargeback (18 years) and they are few and far between. Getting to pick my own processor that is definitely NOT Worldpay (holy crap they suck!) makes a huge difference. I use TSYS and they are a piece of cake. All chargebacks get emailed directly to me, I send...
I know I’m late to the discussion, but definitely just buy the repair kit. I never even use the whole thing, just the seals and it’ll go 6-8 years before needing new seals again. Even though the cost savings it great, the biggest plus for me is NOT having to undo all the fittings to get the...
Personally, I’m not sure who is making the “best” tap, swipe, chip readers because all the systems I’ve looked at have features I hate. Being forced to use a crappy processor like Worldpay, no time stamp/bay # on transactions, our wash name not showing on customers statement, no preloaded gift...
That makes sense to me, but our car wash has a pre-auth hold every time someone slides a card in our self serve bays no matter what kind of card it is - debit or credit. This doesn’t happen with or in bay automatics of course since the amount of the charge is known at the time of card slide.
Second update. It’s been 4 hours and still absolutely nothing on either card from the gas station. However, two charges I have done since then, Home Depot and a grocery store, have pending holds.
(Final update - never saw any hold on either account, just the final amount. I wish I knew how...
