Blue Coral Red Mega Foam

So I am having this issue recently with my foam brush soap snotting/gelling up. I have read the other threads on the forum about this. Over all the years, the red fb has always snotted up somewhat, no matter what brand. This usually only required a monthly cleaning of the tank and filter. This past month with the Blue Coral product I have been straining the gel off everyday. I have previously read this is caused by bacteria. My water is soft via a water softner and my two equipment rooms have air conditioning. I have a length of copper in the tank, which has been there many years. I really never determined if this helped.

I am just curious if anyone else is using the red mega foam and having an issue. I have two locations, both with same issue. It almost feels like a really soft gummy bear or worm, if you prefer. I saved today's pull, and am going to see if I can send it to Blue Coral for analysis. (which is really NCS now) There has got to be something that has changed. Of course, they will probably not admit to it.

You may have to kill the stuff in your tank with bleach if it keeps reblooming. Could be a bad batch of chemical if you normally use this product and don't have these issues normally.

I'd bleach the tank. If it comes back quickly it could be another issue caused by a formulation change. My chemical provider recently tried a new scent and it did this but only at my high volume wash that sees very high product turnover and the equipment room is climate controlled. The low volume wash had no issues

Check your foam brush flow too, you might need to clean the generators

Thanks, Greg. The bigger issue is at the higher volume wash.....interesting. Flow at the bay is great, and foaming is great. I removed the generators a long time ago, due to clogging. I may get some chlorinating tabs to try, as Randy suggested on an old post. But something has definitely changed with the product, in my opinion.

What’s going is you have a bacterial growth or bloom growing between the soap and the water. It happens primarily in the summer when the temperatures rise. What you should is clean all the “snot slime” out of the tank add a couple of 1” swimming pool bleach pellets. You can get the bleach pellets at Walmart or Amazon. I use a pill bottle, drill 10 or 12 ¼” holes in it hang in the soap tank, they last about week and then I add another. In the winter it tends to go away. Since I went to JBS Fonic wash I haven’t to much of the “Snot slime” problem.
