Crypto Swipers with Tap Plus install?

Keno,
I know the Nayax system pretty well but did not know the part about making you try Tap and then Insert before allowing Swipe, that seems like a good way to move people away from swiping. Thanks for posting that.

How many people would you actually lose if you didn't have swipe? I'm guessing not many, most of those using swipe are doing so because it is available. If they are forced to tap or insert their card, they will do so. Nayax forces tap or insert before allowing swiping, and even then swiping is only allowed if those 2 previous methods fail for some reason. As a result, we have less than 3% swiping still. Swiping increases your risk greatly.
I'm not sure, but here are my 3 choices:
1. Keep it exactly how it is, & make sure I collect those 24 swipes each day x $14.80. This assures I don't lose $120,000 + per year on 2 sites!
2. After quitting my job of 34 years (9mos before retirement), I can Go to the wash & ask each swipe customer individually (over the next 6 mos): "Wouldn't you rather tap your card, than swipe"?
3. Just rip out the swipe & take the monumentally bad advice.

Now, almost everybody who says "don't install swipe" has real world experience. But, only experience on THEIR wash & maybe another operator's wash in their area. I recently sold a wash, which mirrors mine, in ANOTHER STATE! It had slightly higher % of swipe. Did right at $130,000 of swipe the last year.

Now, I'm under contract to build a new wash in FtW. I will prolly use Top+ only at this site. I'm looking at a dbl iBA of friction & a Touchless. Or an Autec Mini-tunnel. If I do the dbl iba, I will add swipe & tap to my Vacs. But Tap only for the IBA's.

In my line of work, I am never ceasing to be amazed, by the # of M2M guys there are, & how opinionated they are. "IF you don't run Man to Man, you ain't really coaching. You can only win big, if you run Man-to-Man". Well, I ran M2M for about 18 yrs, & had high success. Then switched to a matchup zone. Guys always want to ask my about our matchup, but never did our M2M. WHY? Cause our matchup zone is tougher than a $2 steak! Most of these young know-it-all coaches don't even know wth we are running! ha
disclaimer" i've gone to State 3x running M2M, & never running matchup.
disclaimerll: we had superior talent when we ran M2M

@Keno

"Swiping increases your risk greatly". Absolutely true and why VISA came into the US in 2017 after eliminating swipe all over the world (the US is behind the world in payment technology) and told everyone to switch to EMV (all cards had chip on them back then) at that time. The Magnetic Swipe has a single number embedded in it and is VERY easy to steal and why they wanted as early as 2017 to get people out of it. Chip and Tap (if the card has the 4 wavy symbols on it and not all in the US today still do), generate random sequence numbers and cannot be stolen. This is why the entire Retail sector in the US converted their point of sale terminals to EMV (forcing swipe to nearly be eliminated except for what Keno said, if the chip insert or Tap should not works 2 - 3 times which is very rare) in 2017-2018 and why you have not been able to use swipe in retail in about 7 years. Nayax, because the world has been EMV long before 2017, and we serve 120+ countries is EMV all over the world and when VISA wanted it done in the US, we did the EMV integration with the Retailers in the US. Technology matters but more importantly swipe is not a safe transaction and ask yourself why you, yourself, cannot use swipe hardly anywhere for 7+ years when you make your retail purchases yet you keep allowing your customers to use it or why you'd only buy Tap when not all cards to have the wavy symbol. The US is moving with to all Tap but is not there yet and to limit to just Tap has it's own business risks and why assume them in 2025?

Yes, that has been true since 2017 we did the EMV integration. A swipe will never be accepted if the card has a chip on it (which all do except some gift cards maybe) or today if the card has the 4 wavy symbols on it (not all do yet). If someone tried since 2017 to swipe their card on a Nayax device, due to the full EMV integration it knows the chip/wavy symbol is on the card and both verbally (as the reader speaks) and graphically, does not allow the swipe to go through and tells the customers to insert the chip or tap the card (if the wavy symbol is on it). Tap alone has it's risks too

Hope this helps understand the how important payment solutions are beyond simply taking credit cards.

Good luck in your businesses and like many, happy to answer any questions. My contact is below (I mainly works with our Authorized OEMs and Distributors) but also happy to include Operators that have questions from all the forums, as many reach out, as they need.

All the best in your payment journeys.

Interested in the tap plus but we have a very large credit union that probably has 5-10% of the banking market in the area that does not generate tap cards.

Still no taps at Wal-Mart, prohibiting phone payments also. . I'm assuming they get a marginally better rate. But as long as the world's largest retailer is insisting on physical cards and no tap I don't feel comfortable going tap only.
