Hamilton Goldline IDTech upgrade doors

I had an issue with 1 ID tech on a brand new commander. Was not the tamper though. It was replaced and so far so good. I actually changed out all my ingenicos(6) to the ID tech and everything has been great. Customers love them. I think you have something going on besides just the reader. Maybe a controller? im not sure above my pay grade. I do have canopies and keep my entrance door closed on the touchless washes otherwise the ID tech and paystation look like crap covered in a film after just few days from overspray.
I agree with you, the IDTech are much nicer and better than the previous ingeniconunits which we tried a long time ago. Our GL doors are new (retrofit upgrade) and came with new controllers. When at the wash yesterday I checked the door setup. Our Profile which is having most of the issues does put the front door down during the wash and our Razor had the front door mode turned off. I monitor the water on the ground and the stations which are in big brick housings. They are not being touched by any wash liquid. That said I do wonder if powerful storms are the cause as we had a howler on Friday night. I just have no info as to the cause or the time the issue started. That info would probably help IDTech solve the problem. THIS iDTech unit is different than other smart units in that it has an IP address so I wonder if they made the tamper code very sensitive due to concerns associated with the internet connection.

Supposedly IDTech is working on a new version. I do not have more info than that comment from a support person.

I honestly dont believe water is your issue. I understand your controllers are new and as much as I like Hamilton and there tech support guys because there great but those silver controllers seem to be hit or mis. Ive replaced plenty of new ones and seems to always solve random weird issues. I would push for a controller replacement before your warranty is up. Once again though this is all above my pay grade. I would at least ask ID tech if the controller could cause a tamper issue.

Also you just reminded me. One reader of mine was accepting cards but acting funny. Hamilton found out that the IP it was assigned to was incorrect but it was still working. Corrected that and everything was fine since. Maybe check the IP on both of them and make sure there good with Hamilton.

Roz I may have spoke to soon. Ive had 2 ID techs fail within last week. Going to test my others tomorrow. Will not read chip but still accept tap/swipe. Both are less than 6 months old. Called Hamilton and they will replace them but also stated they are in current talks with ID Tech because water and chemical seem to be an issue with the chip readers. Who would've thought a car wash has water and chemicals? Paid a lot of money for these so hopefully if they come up with a replacement Hamilton will do the right thing and swap for free. We will see I guess.

I am on unit #7 (with two Goldlines). Water is not coming from bay as the front door is closed. Water can only come from Mother Nature and we often get people who wash their vehicles even if it is raining outside so perhaps it happens when a customer uses the Paystation. Unfortunately Hamilton cannot provide me with a time stamp associated with the issue so I have no idea where to view the video. Maybe they need to have a cover for the reader like the bill acceptor on a changer. Or use the reader that ICS uses which is recessed into the unit so flush or slightly recessed from the front panel. Anyhow at least they make good on the unit however things often happen on a Friday

Good luck.

Wow what a pain. I think if water is the issue for me it's because the chip reader is horizontal so water can pool up in there. The old ingenicos which I "thought" sucked the chip reader was vertical so nothing will collect. Im starting to think them old ingenious were not so bad. Good look to you too sir.
