Need Help Replacing Float Valve – Which One?

Hey everyone,
I need to replace my float valve—it’s leaking. I’ve attached a pic of the current setup. I know it’s a 1-inch valve. While searching on Kleen-Rite, I came across a couple of options:
Not sure which one is the right fit for my setup, does it matter? Can anyone suggest?

Also saw a repair kit, but it doesn’t mention the size—anyone know if that works for all sizes? Also, does this repair kit work for mine?

Appreciate any advice!

Yours looks like it's the short tail. Only difference is the length of threading. Also looks like you have Jim coleman tank possibly. Short or long tail will work though does not matter for your tank. I would just purchase the short. Yes the standard repair kit will work but I would not mess with it unless you have a brand new valve there already just in case you pull it apart and the diaphragm is not the problem.

Yes, it's the JC tank. It's been a while since this float valve has not been replaced. I got it from the seller.

Thank you for the advice.

I thought so. Your welcome. If it's been that long just buy the new one for $80. It beats your equipment room flooding at 2am and getting a call from your alarm company telling you police are dispatched because a motion detector went off.

That valve looks older. I've had older jobes break at the quick connect tabs . At nearly three cents per gallon if one breaks it could cost me hundreds in water and sewer. I'd definitely replace and not attempt a rebuild on that one.

yep I've got a couple jobe topaz float valves in service and so I always keep at least one spare hanging on the wall. They're super reliable but once in a while they do go bad and it's nice to have one right there to bolt up when I need it.
