If soft cloth is what you're looking for, I would highly recommend the Mark VII Combi Wash. Our customers love it! It's reliable. Easy to work on. Saves on electricity. And, esthetically nice looking machine.
Good luck,

The comments are fair enough. I don't think I'm in a good position to go public. As many of you know, your distributor can really hurt your business if you go against them. I feel like we're stuck right now. Probably, I should not have posted a response. Anyone going into this business...
All good advice. I started by talking with other carwash owners outside my demographic area of interest. Get the real skinny on the business. With any business it has good and bad points. Carwash magazines are very helpful. Find a location with little or no competition and great traffic...
You will probably have to pay an additional utilities impact fee, if the city determines that your water and sewer consumption will increase. Good Luck!

We are often asked if the car wash business is profitable, and I always tell them the truth ... If we were making money hand-over-fist, my wife and I wouldn't be the only ones working the business. Anyone thinking of competing with a successful carwash less than 5 miles is taking a big chance...

Hello all,
I'm wanting to purchase an existing site that has five 13' 8" x 33' bays. The only way this site will work is if I can install a friction unit. Some companies told me that it could be done, but it would be tight and others do not recommend it. Has anyone installed a friction unit...
Definitely add a friction machine! We have a double bay site and our customers use the friction more than the touchfree 60/40 split for friction. There is a clear client?le for touchfree and for the friction.
Good Luck.

Love the system! We have it in our self-serve bays and vac islands. Very few problems with clogging due to installation and a couple of motors. Would do it again.

Thanks for your responses. F.Y.I. - I decided to take apart both the power blast & top oscillator solenoids and found pieces of broken off pvc pipe inside. Probably from the check valve underneath the rinse tank which had previously been replaced. So far, it fixed the problem.
If anyone...
Red Baron,
I would interested in how you finally resolve this issue. We too have a D&S 5000, Hamilton and DAN Sys, but have not investigated this issue. The best I have been told is that the 5000 can be upgraded to page you when it faults out. I have not tried upgrading the machine.
Keep us...
