Just had a ModWash open near me in MD. Their website says they will have 54 locations by end of 2021 up and down the East coast. They spent a $hit ton of money on this location. They must have deep pockets, and know something I do not.

Well I got a Mister being built to my North and a Foam Express Wash being built to my South and now I see a Tommy's possibly going in a block north of the Mister being built just ridiculous.

Not surprised Tommy's is being built right on top of another wash.

Seems Tommy's is a franchise-based wash company, and they prey on investors that are brand new to the industry, so they don't know any better than to build on top of another wash, plus they have to pay 10% royalties off the top every month forever.

I listened to the Tommy's sales pitch a year or two ago at a convention. The pitch is basically "Our building is unique and our equipment is the best! So it doesn't matter if you build on top of another wash. You will take all their business." Pretty unethical if you ask me.

I wonder when they are going to start creeping into small population towns.
A couple of weeks ago, I got a call from a "Mister" rep in Austin who told me they were going to be in "my area" and would like to meet with me about discussing possibly buying Cheetah. Told them I wasn't interested at this time. From what I've read in the publications, they're buying up everything they can get their hands on.

3:52 from the paystation to completion at Mister this morning, I cannot compete with that in the IBA market only way would be to install a mini tunnel with a belt instead of chain all of this can be done but the $$$ is a factor.

Mister and Zips are going heavy into acquisition mode. I don't know about Zips but I will just say this, you may see Mister start discussing an IPO in the next 2 to 3 years if their plan plays out accordingly.

Mister tends to spend a ton on buying up locations as well. The locations near me after buyout lose around 30% of customers due to changes in the wash packages and charging for each and every towel, glass cleaner and such.

Snipped from their website:

"Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, Mister Car Wash is an equal opportunity employer operating 324 car washes and 31 express lubes in 21 states."

You shut your whole mouth!!I 😰😯
A LOT of us could go bankrupt if that happens, including me!
I don’t know your town coach, but from what you say, it is a smaller, rural area, and I have not seen these places appearing in towns like that.

Not saying they can’t, but it doesn’t seem to be their M.O.
