I have a lamp at home and the switch has gone bad. I went to Lowes, thinking this was a $5 and 30 minute job. Well, as things always seem to work out when I'm doing a home repair, it's not. All the switches I can find have a smaller female threaded portion, about the same size as 1/8" pipe. Mine is about the size of 1/4" pipe. Mine is brass in color and is the twist on/off, but at this point I don't care about the color or style of switch, I just want to get the lamp working. Mine looks like this one, but so does the wrong one I bought at Lowes.

What does 1/8 IPS mean?

Thanks Chaz. They have a $15 minimum order, then shipping on top of that, but you gave me the knowledge I needed (1/4 IPS). I searched that and found it on Amazon. I should have known, if you need a part for a lamp, go to the car wash forum.
