More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease—in fact, more than many other childhood diseases combined. To help change these statistic, Washworld Employees participated in a friendly head-shavcompetition to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. (St. Baldrick's is a foundation working closely with leading pediatric oncologists, determining the most promising cancer research to fund and creating funding priorities to make the greatest impact for children with cancer.)

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is volunteer and donor powered—from the founders who started it to the volunteer who signed up today! Volunteers participate by shaving their heads at an event to raise funds for the Foundation.

Washworld matched all funds raised, and with the combined efforts, we raised over $6k for childhood cancer! The final amount is still being counted, but one employee calculated that he raised 4.5 cents per hair and another employee auctioned off an eyebrow for $150! It's so inspiring to see the difference we can make when we all work together.
